I find I'm naturally very drawn to listening intently when Liam Neeson speaks.

Any others?

Oh, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Martin Shae for me.

BiscuitDrama · 27/02/2019 20:33

ShaW

FreezerBird · 27/02/2019 20:33

Benedict Cumberbatch
Anton Lesser (a criminally underused actor imo)
Alan Rickman
Roger Allam

Judi Dench
Juliet Stevenson
Haydn Gwynne

Andrew Lincoln, not his American but his British.

Bluestitch · 27/02/2019 20:35

Stefanie Powers' voice sends me into a relaxed trance. I loved it when she showed the houses on Through The Keyhole.

pointythings · 27/02/2019 20:40

I second Patrick Stewart, Alan Rickman, Anton Lesser and Martin Shaw, but I can't believe no-one has mentioned Art Malik!

AnotherEmma · 27/02/2019 20:41

Wendell Pierce (Robert Zane in Suits)

A few people have said Anthony Hopkins - how could his voice do anything but creep you the fuck out after Silence of the Lambs?!

SilverySurfer · 27/02/2019 20:59

Oh yes pointythings how could I forget Art Malik. So loved him in Jewel in the Crown.

Maybe I'm not creeped the fuck out listening to Anthony Hopkins because I have never watched Silence of the Lambs.

AnotherEmma · 27/02/2019 21:00

I assumed everyone would have watched it but obviously not, silly of me Smile

you should watch it

FrankiesKnuckle · 27/02/2019 21:03

Rosamund Pike and John Hannah.

rocketromano · 27/02/2019 21:06

Ewan McGregor. He’s done voiceovers for various wildlife programmes on bbc and he sounds great. Lovely accent and voice too

catinboots99 · 27/02/2019 21:10

John Nettles

Livpool · 27/02/2019 21:13

Isn't Mark Rylance Flop from Bing?! Nice calming voice though

JaneJeffer · 27/02/2019 21:17

Neil Oliver
Celia Imrie - love her
Ryan Hawley
yes to Roger Alllam

WhereforeArtThouManatee · 27/02/2019 21:17

William Hope. He's my absolute favourite audiobook narrator.

Also, Octavia Spencer.

BringMeTea · 27/02/2019 21:17

Well according to the UK's tv production companies David Morrissey. He appears to have a monopoly on voice over work. I mean, he is quite soothing with added gravitas but Christ, he must be permanently sitting in a quiet room wittering on.

derxa · 27/02/2019 21:18

Art Malik I love him Blush

EnidButton · 27/02/2019 21:18

Richard E Grant. Amazing voice. Like melted chocolate on toast. His wife is a voice coach so perhaps she helped him with it. It's gorgeous.

rightreckoner · 27/02/2019 21:18

I always loved Joss Ackland’s voice. And Timothy West.

ShowOfHands · 27/02/2019 21:22

Mark Rylance and Iain Glen.

paisho · 27/02/2019 21:25

Not quite sure why, but I absolutely love listening to Cate Blanchett speak.

MidwifeyForLifey · 27/02/2019 21:28

Ahh yes, Alan Rickman. I love his voice.

Yes to Ralph Fiennes too, even playing the dark Lord in HP, his voice was so easy to listen to.

Can anyone help me with this? There is a narrator who does a lot of History programmes. He is quite old, very English. His voice is absolutely perfect for History talk. I always think it when I watch a programme with him there speaking. Any ideas?

No it isn't David Attenborough, I'm not all that fussed for his voice. But understand the appeal.
