Inspired by the other thread: what were you surprised to find has grown on you, or isn’t so bad as you thought?

For me:

Tea shops
Opera
Cream
Charity shops
Documentaries
Snakes

All vegetables apart from peas. To be fair they were put on to cook when the meat went in 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sport. I now run a lot. I didn't do any sport as a child unless I had to (except for swimming lessons and riding my bike).

Conversely I was quite musical and was in my school and county choirs but now do nothing musical at all.

I also made a firm promise to myself as a child that when I grew up I would eat cake batter raw instead of baking itGrin

Oh I absolutely hated it as a kid, the texture..🤢..When it was a lovely hot day and all the kids in my cul-de-sac were playing out together, mums and dads would take turns buying us all am ice cream 🍦... I used to say thank you 😊 tell my friends I'm just going to the toilet ..🙄...and make mum eat it!...😆..and I would walk out with just the cone...😂..Honestly That has made giggle 🤭

Castle ruins, stately homes and art galleries.

AtleastitsnotMonday · 27/02/2019 23:12

Pretty places. My mum always tried to reassure me I’d like wherever it was we had to visit because ‘it was really pretty’. As an 8 year old with limitless energy if it didn’t have an adventure playground I really wasn’t interested.
