Inspired by the other thread: what were you surprised to find has grown on you, or isn’t so bad as you thought?

For me:

Tea shops
Opera
Cream
Charity shops
Documentaries
Snakes

Things I like now that I didn't as a kid:
Stinky Cheese
Politics / News Programming on TV and Radio

I always liked being alone and things I expected to enjoy as an adult like coffee, wine (any booze really), exercise and socialising I still hate as much as I did as a kid!

FemalePersonator · 27/02/2019 13:25

Yes, definitely walks in the countryside.

Used to get dragged along by my parents as a child then I hit about 14 and developed a desperation to go up mountains that has never left me.

NC0301191141 · 27/02/2019 14:20

Just remembered another one - National Trust properties! I used to get so bored wandering round mansions, so my Mum is delighted that I'll now happily meander around them with her without whinging!

ohmydaysagain · 27/02/2019 14:21

Carrots 😂 I hated them as a child quite like them now!
DIY shops. We were dragged round them every bank holiday weekend and I hated them, quite enjoy looking around one now but never drag my kids there!

toffee1000 · 27/02/2019 15:06

I used to dislike ham. I still remember when it turned to like!!
I also didn’t eat chicken... there was a point in my life when all I ever wanted for dinner was “pasta with red sauce”, sometimes “green sauce”. I am much better now, although I still don’t like tomatoes.

E20mom · 27/02/2019 15:12

Red wine Wine

Don't judge my parents though!

Birdsgottafly · 27/02/2019 16:04

All vegetables, I only ate peas as a child.

Red Wine, Indian food, fruit cake/mince pies.

Like many others, the Countryside.

Mediumsizeddancer · 27/02/2019 16:09

Any dish made from mince beef. My mum used to buy the cheap, really low fat mince that was bitty and chewy and I hated any dish made from mince.

Now, chilli and lasagne are some of my favourite meals. Made with decent 12% mince ofc.
