If I loved Elenor Oliphant what else would I like?

I’m wanting some new books and don’t know where to start. I want relatively easy reads, I have a baby so can’t be dealing with anything that can’t be dropped in and out of. Any recommendations?

The Rosie Project

I hated Elinor Oliphant and it reminded me of The Rosie Project which I also hated. So on that logic you might really like The Rosie Project!

I loved it. I also really like Liane Moriarty books. I found Tracy Bloom on my Kindle - her books are reasonably short - so easy reads.

Alabasterangel6 · 25/02/2019 22:10

The Cactus (can’t remember the authors name). Remarkable book in a very similar vein.

I hated this book. I know so many people rave about it but I was just left feeling cold. Nothing really happened in it, I felt.

OP, The Seven Imperfect Rules of Elvira Carr is very similar to Eleanor.

PlsTryAnother · 25/02/2019 22:11

Ooh The Cactus! Very Elenor-esque but I preferred it tbh

I loved it too.

I really enjoy Liane Moriarty books the characters are complex some I loath othe to love

Crockof · 25/02/2019 22:31

I loved it as well. I was recommended that book and one other, From the end we start. Very different and I had to push pass the first chapter but I loved it.

Crockof · 25/02/2019 22:32

Seconding The Rose Project!

thegreylady · 25/02/2019 22:46

The Summer of Impossible Things by Roman Coleman is one of the best books I have read for a long time.

Dermymc · 25/02/2019 23:02

For me the brilliance was that not much happened but so much did happen. Her writing of the human thought process and emotions is superb.
I can understand your pov.

VeryFoolishFay · 25/02/2019 23:36

Colonel Pettigrew's Last Stand, the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, Mr Rosenblum's List, When God was a Rabbit. Loved the Rosie Project, and Elinor Oliphant and loved all these too.

Gingerkittykat · 25/02/2019 23:37

A Man Called Ove, a nice easy read which is hilariously funny and desperately sad at the same time.

yellowsun · 25/02/2019 23:39

The seven imperfect rules of Elvira Carr.

Also enjoyed Gentleman in Moscow and Keeper Of Lost Things

What about Matt Haig? I enjoyed ‘hot to stop tike’ And ‘the humans’.
