What car do you have?

Me and DH are looking at getting a new car. He wants a quashqai (sp?) and I've just gone along with it without even really thinking about other cars.

Neither of us need it for work and we currently have 1 DC but are thinking of having another in the next year or 2.

I do like the quashqai but want to consider others before we start looking. I'll have the final say (I think) as it's only me who can currently drive.

A very old Ford Fiesta! Absolutely zero issues mechanically Smile

I have a Ford Focus,I like it

OdeToDiazepam · 17/02/2019 22:02

I've got a qashqai

Good mileage, comfy to drive, not needed any repairs so far and lots of boot space so it's great

We've got a BMW 220 Active Tourer diesel. I absolutely love it. It's so economical, despite being an automatic, it's really roomy DH is 6'4 and DS2 who is also 6'4 can sit behind him comfortably and because it's an MPV it's really easy for me to get in and out.

We got ours brand new but secondhand ones aren't as expensive as you'd think.

NanooCov · 17/02/2019 22:21

Skoda Superb Estate. We have the whizzy one to satisfy DH's desire for a bit of speed but it is an excellent family car and a boot like the tardis.

FrenchyQ · 17/02/2019 22:29

1.5 Qashqai diesel here....I love it, really comfortable to drive

Devonishome1 · 17/02/2019 22:32

I’ve got a Kia Sportage. It’s got a lot of kit for the money, would recommend.

Keeoe · 17/02/2019 22:36

C4 Cactus. I love it. Cheap enough so you can trick it out however you want and a dream to drive for medium family car - it can turn on a sixpence and is super economical.

teenybean · 17/02/2019 22:57

VW Tiguan, absolutely love it! (Also have a 1967 beetle & 1972 t2 camper)

DumbledoresArmy · 17/02/2019 23:03

We've got a Quashqai +2.
It's a diesel 1.5.
Great to drive, comfy. Stacks of room in boot due to +2 size.

llangennith · 17/02/2019 23:07

Ford Galaxy. I can fit in all the DGC and their crap plus I can get in and out of it easily. I do a lot of driving and don't get backache.

Dodgylooking · 18/02/2019 01:02

Ford ecosport

Lauren83 · 18/02/2019 01:10

Kia Sportage, changed from a Peugeot 207 as DS 2 due soon and I love it

Backwoodsgirl · 18/02/2019 01:26

I have a Ford Expedition EL. 5.4L. It's big, seats 8, plus 2 huskies in the boot. Very reliable, I love it, for me it's the perfect car. It manages 20MPG so not too bad.

MistressDeeCee · 18/02/2019 01:35

Qashqai. I love it, spacious and economical. I like the Kia Sportage too but not the engine size. We live in London where it's stop-start traffic so a petrol guzzler is pointless. If I went outside London much more it would be the Sportage for me

Aldilogue · 18/02/2019 02:00

I have a dualis which is the equivalent of the qashqi (I’m in Oz) while overall it’s been very reliable it’s not gutsy at all and especially when the air con is on. The boot is too small and as the kids grow, 12,10 and 7 is becoming too small. Zippy around town if you don’t need power, pulling out onto motorway needs a bigger gap because you don’t have the acceralation that my husbands VW golf has for instance.
I wouldn’t buy another in the future.
