Midnight at The Oasis by The Brand New Heavies. Bland.
Anything by M People. Uber Bland.
Man! I Feel Like A Woman by Shania Twain. I Work in a club and anytime we have a do with older women as the guests this has them racing to the dance floor. A lot of flesh gets released. Grin

I've Got a Brand New Combine Harvester by the Wurzels just manages to pip the Crazy Frog song at the post.

nutellalove · 09/02/2019 23:49

Patience, take that. No idea why but that song makes me want to tear my ears off whenever I hear it

Mother87 · 09/02/2019 23:49

Thriller - Michael Jackson
Rock DJ - Robin Williams
Most shouty stuff by Tina Turner

WORSTEST is an appropriate word i thinkGrin

Mother87 · 09/02/2019 23:52

That awful song by someone Thicke? Robin?

ElderMcKinley · 09/02/2019 23:53

Jar of Hearts by Christina Perri.
...you're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul... That's not how you catch a cold! Confused

whatyouhavethough · 09/02/2019 23:54

Anything Mariah Carey sings, sounds like cats fighting in an alleyway.

Love the beautiful south. Bibbity I don't think we will ever be friends now after that revelation 😵

notacooldad · 09/02/2019 23:56

Peter Frampton's Show me the way.
Hate it!

Mother87 · 09/02/2019 23:56

Gaaawd yep - My Sharona & Love ShackAngryAngry

TitchyP · 09/02/2019 23:59

Agree with My Sharona.

Also pretty much anything by The Manic Street Preachers. But especially the dirge about not tolerating this, that or the other.

Killerqueen2244 · 10/02/2019 00:00

Love Shack
Groove is in the heart

These two have always been the worst offenders in my opinion- even more so than Agadoo and the like. Eurgh!

mawbroon · 10/02/2019 00:04

Titanium. Especially the bit where it makes a really horrible sound and switches to the off beat. Sounds like they put a backwards sample in it or something. It actually hurts my brain.

Sex on Fire, Mr Brightside, Don't stop believing.

I've played too many wedding gigs with cover bands 😕

SinisterBumFacedCat · 10/02/2019 00:07

The Scientist by Coldplay, it’s sooo bloooody dreary!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/02/2019 00:22

I like 'Blurred Lines'

Leaves thread

hazandduck · 10/02/2019 00:23

Oh my word yes to the OITNB theme...the moustache close ups make me feel ick too, it’s just the worst intro!

NellyTimes · 10/02/2019 00:23

It's Raining Men by the Weather Girls
Love Shack by the B52s
Whoops Now by Janet Jackson
Millennium (and most things) by Robbie Williams
Lessons In Love by Level 42
She's Electric by Oasis
Walking In Memphis by Marc Cohen/Cher
Good Vibrations by the Beach Boys

hazandduck · 10/02/2019 00:25

Agree Jar of Hearts is shite, as is that horrible song by Evanescence, ‘Wake me up in time’ or something! So ott and whiny.

Anything by Tony Christie. Amarillo etc. Bleugh.

StableGenius · 10/02/2019 00:26

Imagine
Wonderful Tonight
Jive Bunny
Most stuff by Stock Aitken and Waterman except Mel and Kim, who were GREAT

ClinkyMonkey · 10/02/2019 00:27

Natural Woman - sung by just about everyone on every tin pot talent show. It's been done to death and I'm utterly sick of it. Can't even listen to Aretha's version.
King of Rock n Roll - Prefab Sprout
Real Gone Kid - Deacon Blue

I frequently mix up those last two in all their bland, plinky plinky horror.

There are loads I hate. Loads! I could be here all night.

Beansonapost · 10/02/2019 00:31

The song "constant cravings"...

just STFU and go eat!

sagradafamiliar · 10/02/2019 00:34

What a thread! I've nodded along to most of these bar probably two or three. Funny how songs I've never been able to abide are hated by others.
I remember finding The air that I breathe by The Hollies unbelievably dreary and annoying as a child.

The Beautiful South, especially Perfect 10 and Rotterdam. I'd have disliked them regardless but my first boyfriend insisting on having them as 'our sex soundtrack' really took the biscuit. Mother of god.

Bubastes · 10/02/2019 00:36

The Beautiful South as background shagging music!? No one wants to hear Paul Heaton's whiny voice when they're fucking! Not even Mrs Paul Heaton.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/02/2019 00:36

These Words - Natasha Beddinfield

YouveCatToBeKittenMe · 10/02/2019 00:42

Someone mentioned
The Only Way Is Up
which always reminds me of my dad doing dad dancing at Pontins and makes me smile
I wanted to play it at his funeral but thought people might think I was being inappropriate Grin

Sorry bit irrelevant!

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 10/02/2019 00:46

I feel like this thread was created for me! Except there's SO many song mentioned on here which I adore, and also so many i loathe.

I have a personal hatred for those "end of the school disco" songs - The Power of Love (Jennifer Rush), anything by Celine Dionne et al

But the worst offenders for me are songs you hate by groups you love. So I LOVE the Bat Out of Hell album, but want to tear my eyeballs out to I Would Do Anything For Love.
Moondance/Brown Eyed Girl - I adore Van Morrison. Have I Told You Lately - I'd happily hit him with an ice pick.
Soft rock in general.
Anything smultzy, particularly involving choirs in the 1970s
Oh, and I hate "I will survive". I like the message, it just gets right on my tits. And I hate the way girls cling together to sing it.

To pick up on a couple of posts:
Move closer by Phylis nelson - yup, that's up there coppercolouredtop

I will always love you by Whitney Houston. As Céline, but even worse. Yes, (again, as above) but the Dolly Parton original is lovely, Jsmith99
However:
I just called to say I love you by Stevie Wonder. Stevie is a bone-fide musical genius whose 70s albums are timeless masterpieces. It is a small tragedy that this ghastly twee abomination of a song is the work for which he is best known in the Uk
I know! Superstitious! What an awesome track!

nutellalove you posted this: Patience, take that PLEASE tell me this isn't a cover of the Guns N Roses track? I can not bear to google. Patience is one of the best songs ever. By them!

Norfolkenchancemate · 10/02/2019 00:50

Anything Charlotte church. "Even god can't change the paaaaast..."
nope your right love because he's not effing real
