I like the wallpaper in the Windsor Suite (am I missing the point?)

TadaTralala · 06/02/2019 08:15

Is the fox dry-hymping the bannister? And what about the fox....and the pheasant, are they at it?!

OnTheHop · 06/02/2019 08:47

I was deeply worried about the head on the cooker until I saw the next picture.

What size are all those high heels?

Anyway, three cheers for anyone who avoids the tedious march of ‘hotel chic’ via the Next catalogue approach to decor.

Sometimes when I wander around a National Trust stately home I think to myself that I was born into the wrong era and wrong class as I would've loved to live in that type of home... The owner of this house probably thought "sod it I will live in a house worthy of a grand Duke"! 🤣

RedForShort · 06/02/2019 09:04

Wonder why they are selling it. With that much effort put into it you'd have thought it would be a 'forever home'.

Unless purchasing the white peacock pushed them over the edge. No idea what they'd cost, but I imagine it's not cheap!!

woollyheart · 06/02/2019 09:10

Maybe they need more room for the peacocks

TheVanguardSix · 06/02/2019 09:15

It was Mrs. Peacock.
In the study.
With a lead pipe- no wait, randy stuffed fox.

TheVanguardSix · 06/02/2019 09:15

It really is wankfodder for a taxidermist.

User5trillion · 06/02/2019 09:20

I love these types of houses, so much personality and creativity. Not my taste but so much better than the bland boring grey matchy matchy houses I usually see.

AgathaF · 06/02/2019 09:25

The attention to detail is incredible.

OnTheHop · 06/02/2019 09:28

LOL @ Vanguard6

OnTheHop · 06/02/2019 09:33

I love it that the picture from the actual Belvoir Castle looks plain by comparison.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 06/02/2019 09:38

All that stuff would give me a headache. Would be a lovely house without all the dead animals and pictures of dead guys and gals

The nurse must have a fetish.

The issue with this is unless their furniture is sold with it the walls and gilded ceilings are going to look bloody odd with most people's current furniture.
