I have no hobbies. What are yours?

I've just realised that since having the kids 7 years ago, I've basically given up all my interests except reading. I'm a bit lonely I think and I can't even remember what I enjoyed doing pre-kids. I'm sure I watched loads of films and saw friends more. But now I feel a bit thick, a bit left on the shelf and wonder where I'll find time for a hobby. Yet actually, if I ditched my phone and reading blogs etc I'd have more time. My kids have been very dependent on me and perhaps I've been too good at being attentive and now want to get some of me back or discover new stuff. Money is a usual excuse.

Baking, gardening, kayaking, hill walking, nature.
I harbour a secret longing to join a drum circle after seeing a load of very loud women in the Tintagel carnival one year!!

I work/volunteer/study/kids/see friends. Not much time for hobbies.

I read sometimes/swim occasionally/plan holidays.

I like being creative but not much time or inclination at the moment.

leccybill · 05/02/2019 00:31

I enjoy planning and researching holidays.
Would love to get into Am Dram!

I need a thread like this every so often to remind me to get off my bloody phone - the world is out there!

I love reading but go through bouts of it and can never keep it up!
My job is cake decorating but I do see it as a hobby in a way.
I used to be a semi-professional singer but haven’t sung for ages. I’d love to find an a cappella group or a cool choir, but I can’t and don’t have the musical knowledge to run one myself (despite having grade 8 singing and a diploma, my musical theory is awful 😄) I might just take singing lessons again.
I love going to the gym but am still v fat
Hmmm..... crafts when I get the time! Embroidery, candle making, all sorts.

I need to learn about history as I know 0.

I'm with the walker that ends up on a pub, especially on Lake District trips! Love a good walk tho.
I do home exercise: spin, yoga, Pilates, body combat.
I like reading, movies, box sets can they be hobbies?

Always fancied going to the Lake District. Perhaps later this year. Lots of walks with plenty of pubs, good food and 🍷.

My hobbie are knitting & crochet (although much better at knitting), yoga, dancercise, pole dancing, aerial silks, reading. I used to bake too, but I find I don’t have much time these days and I cba with the rigmarole of all the washing up after!

I started consciously knitting as a hobbie when DP & I moved in together, one of his hobbies is watching sport, so I decided I needed something to do while he was watching that. After that it was easy to find things I enjoyed once I started looking.

Running / country walks
Allotment
Making jam and preserves

I have sheep which I show - spend all winter bumbling about with them to make sure they are in good shape. I also keep chickens - totally love them. So am outside very day whatever the weather.

Am starting to keep bees this year - starting a course next month which will be mildly more sociable than the above stuff.

I really do need to get out more and do something that's more sociable!

TwigTheWonderKid · 06/02/2019 08:02

My children are a bit older so my main oadttime us driving them to and from their hobbies! However, I do voluntary work, love reading and have just started a pottery evening class which I am loving.
