I keep reading people become invisible as they age

I keep seeing this on here and I wondered if people could elaborate.. and at what age do you think it happens. I only ask as wherever I have lived, it's always seemed like the older generation are the most talkative, friendly, engaging and are always stood talking or meeting up. They are the ones chatting with the checkout assistants in shops. On my street of mixed ages, it's the older ones who engage with everyone. When I'm walking around I rarely talk to people younger than me (33) but always have time to chat to older people. What does 'becoming invisible' mean?

Oh and I’m not beautiful - just normal/moderately attractive looking but small and blonde with largeish boobs which doesn’t help.

I'm early 40s and definately noticed becoming less visible to men (but not to women/ kids, so i feel it's definately in an attractiveness way).

Teens/ twenties i used to get lots of unwanted attention in the street/ trains/ bars etc. Thirties i got nicer attention which tbh i miss. Forties very little attention from men at all! Maybe coinicides with having small children so i dont have time/ energy to put much effort into my appearance and generally wearing dirty, mud splattered clothes etc.

Generally thats fine by me, but occasionally i do miss small things like being given good service, small freebies, compliments etc

I'm invisible enough for people to bump into me. I sometimes comnent on getting their eyes checked because you can't miss me, I'm tall, obese and live in bright red coloured floral dresses. You can see me a mile off!
