For a proper, romantic, grown up break for a significant birthday after a shitty few years.

Want to push the boat out!

I’ve stayed at the ritz, it was worth it just for the experience and everyone treats you like royalty!!

Also the bloomsbury - been twice with a really lovely time both times!

SylvanPlace · 02/02/2019 18:55

It is exciting! Even looking!

The Goring has a fire, which I like 😃

Carlton Jumerra.

I’d want classic, elegant luxury so it would be Rosewood or The Langham for me.

crumpet · 02/02/2019 19:49

Smaller hotel such as Ham Yard or Charlotte Street?

elasticfantastic · 02/02/2019 20:10

Corinthia is very central and rather lovely.

Loath The Ned.
Love the Ritz & Savoy.
Langham is great.
Goring is fab.
Corinthia is decent. Fantastic spa.
Claridges is decent.
Not the Me for a romantic weekend!
Yes to American bar at the savoy.
Langham bar is superb!

KenAdams · 02/02/2019 23:31

You can't beat The Ritz. Staying there is a much better experience than just dining there. I didn't enjoy The Savoy - it lacks the amazing old school glamour of The Ritz.

CherryPavlova · 02/02/2019 23:36

We tend to stay at Langham. It’s lovely.
The Berkeley is nice.
Suites at Riverbank if you’re there for more than a couple of night. Lovely river views and balcony.

Mandarin Oriental?

ConfessionalProfessional · 03/02/2019 00:57

The Savoy
The Dorchester

Annandale · 03/02/2019 01:00

Agog to know what was unenjoyable about Claridges which is my dream hotel for my future luxury life, even if I've never been closer than the internet. Please warn me??

The Goring was where the Duchess of Cambridge stayed the night before her wedding wasn't it?

Adviceplease1234 · 03/02/2019 01:42

The Savoy is lovely and very traditional.

The Corinthia is stunning and has some lovely restaurants.

AuntieOxident · 03/02/2019 01:54

The Mandarin Oriental is lovely — very central (Knightsbridge) and just across the road from Harvey Nicks. And Harrods.
We stayed at the Mondrian on the South Bank (the Sea Containers mentioned above) and it’s very lively and buzzy and in a very good location too. On the downside It’s just a bit ‘too-cool-for-school’ .... but the views and cocktails are good.

I’d love to stay at the Shangri-La in the Shard - and swim in the highest swimming pool in London, on the 22nd floor. (I think. Could be the 23rd).

ilovesooty · 03/02/2019 01:55

I'd love to stay at the Goring. My father used to stay there years ago when he was in London on business.
