Revamping the living room. Want to buy new curtains but no matter how often someone explains it to me I cannot get my head round how to measure my window to buy the correct size.
I work in Finance - why can I not get my head round these numbers?
What Grown Up stuff can you not do?

Use chopsticks. I know it sounds ridiculous. I think there's something wrong with my brain as I just can't do it.

cricketmum84 · 02/02/2019 21:00

I can't repressurise the boiler or bleed a radiator.

cricketmum84 · 02/02/2019 21:02

Oh yeah I can't walk in heels either! I've given up trying and am happy to wear flats forever :)

Ivegotthree · 02/02/2019 21:05

HAHA re: pretending to like people!

I used to be able to do this but no longer! And getting v much worse at it every day!

slapmyarseandcallmemary · 02/02/2019 21:19

Drive. Have failed my test 3 times.
Swim.
Wallpaper.
Apply make up that lasts.

BettyJJ · 02/02/2019 21:21

Sort my finances/look after my money without spending it on crap.

Cook well.

Clean everyday. I'm lazy.

Be organised.

Be assertive.

onetwopyjamacrew · 02/02/2019 21:22

I can’t iron!!

doodlejump1980 · 02/02/2019 21:26

I can’t “do” my hair. It’s down or it’s scraped back in a ponytail for the gym. I’d love to be able to do a messy bun or some other up-do, but I just can’t.

WakeUpFromYourDreamAndScream · 02/02/2019 21:30

Deal with my vomiting children - Norophobic/emetophobic
Like you OP I also cannot measure for curtains and have to get my mam to do it!
Sew - again my mam does it all for me
Make a runny egg
Deal with spiders

God I'm useless! Grin

lucysmam · 02/02/2019 21:37

Drive - I've tried several bazillion times (ok, maybe only seven, with various instructors) but I just don't like it.

Also can't wallpaper. But love painting so long as it's with brush not roller!

Do my hair any further than run straighteners over it or clip up with a crocodile clip thing.

I can walk/dance all day, and night, in heels though! I wear them very very rarely these days but when I do, I have one friend who always comments on the fact that mine are firmly on my feet long after everyone else has kicked theirs off.

OnlyYellowRoses · 02/02/2019 22:24

Winged eyeliner 😔 always looks like I've head butted a door frame 🤦🏼‍♀️

LilQuim · 03/02/2019 12:10

@RedHatsDoNotSuitMe (sorry NC for me!!) I'm up for all of this!

RedHatsDoNotSuitMe · 03/02/2019 13:02

Swapsies, LilQuim?

Up for that! Please come and be a better adult in my life than I'm capable of being!

onlyhereforthefood · 03/02/2019 13:35

Another one who can't reverse park!

Also, for the life of me I cannot get the duvet cover on a double duvet. I try but I get so tangled up, every time!

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 03/02/2019 14:25

Those who can't drive, what is the problem? Maybe we can help?

Fab! I’ll start a GoFundMe and everyone can donate!

I don’t understand comments like that. Perhaps those of us who don’t drive don’t need help from the clearly better people that do...I don’t drive, mainly because it’s an absolute fortune to learn but other people are far more annoyed about it then I am, I live in North London, 3 minutes from the northern line, 3 minutes from the overground, 15 minutes from kings cross and 15 different bus routes within about 8 minutes. I can get pretty much anywhere I need to and get there whilst reading a book. If I can’t get somewhere then there’s taxis.

Driving is not the be all and end all

LilQuim · 03/02/2019 14:42

@IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece

That's a bit harsh. Someone was asking if we could offer help - to those who have expressed they had tried & couldn't do it! Your post is about not WANTING to drive.

Redyoyo · 03/02/2019 16:48

I can't tie a tie, my parents tied mine all through school, my eldest is 9 and still wears the elastic school tie.
I have tried but i just can't get it!
I also can't open a baby gate, luckily i have quite long legs so i always just step over them!

Do a bra up the right way
Keep plants alive
Put air in tyres (they end up flatter instead)
