Hermes :-(

There is no angry face so a sad one will have to do!!

Been fucked about by a well known home retailer for 3 weeks. Item finally dispatched. Text at 11am tpday to say it would be here between 7pm and 9pm (been in ALL day). 8.44 pm, notification to say the parcel has been delivered and signed for. No it fucking hasn't. Checked permiter of the property.

Tracking has now been updated with the 'signature' which is a picture of a line and the name 'xxdd'.

Plan to unleash hell on said retailer tomorrow as Hermes isn't open but OMG I am FUMING!!!

Feel you with this one!

I have my own business so dealing with courier and Royal Mail all of the time. Two instances in the last couple of months couriers have dropped expensive items off at the complete wrong places. Not even close to me. It’s so annoying and not to mention stressful.

The retailer should acutually chase it for you, and if the item can’t be relocated the should send you a new item out.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 09:18

I don't think I have ever been so angry with a company! Said home retailer has said it will take 72 hours to investigate before they can do anything. Already been messed around by the fuckers for 20 days on this and had multiple order cancelled by them and fucked up!Angry

Hermes make me angry !!

In the past two weeks

They left a parcel in a "secure" outbuilding - an empty brick shed with no roof and no door (due to getting redone) accessible straight onto a street... contacted Hermes... who said oh well Im glad you recieved parcel !!

Next week... left a note stating will come back tomorrow... later that night person from two streets away knocks with parcel... delivery driver asked would they mind bringing it round to save them coming back !!

RaiderOfTheKitchenCupboard · 27/01/2019 09:32

Hermes may turn up with it today, I’ve had that happen before. I think the driver faked the signature to meet some target or whatever, then spent their day off catching up with the deliveries.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 11:14

Even if they do turn up today they are going to seriously regret lying - and faking my signature!

They're not really going to care.

You'll get a far better outcome by being calm and polite than issuing silly threats.

tablelegs · 27/01/2019 11:34

I'm currently having a dispute with Hermes. Tracked delivery has tracked it to a local store and been signed for by someone who works there. Store are saying no one with that name works there and they don't have it.

CommunistLegoBloc · 27/01/2019 11:45

I suspect they have done as PP said. They’re using the day off to catch up on unreasonable targets, because if they don’t then they’ll get fired.

Do you really want to kick off, considering the utter abuse that is their job? I’ve had it happen before and the parcel has always been delivered.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 11:49

@Bombardier I don't mean I will kick off at them. I mean not only will I be reporting them to Hermes but I will also get reg plate and report to the home retailer that uses Hermes. We have already been fucked about with this order and I have had enough. We stayed in specifically (re-arranged plans) for this delivery as had been given a specific time. To not turn up is bad enough, to then fake my name and signature and claim they have delivered is even worse.

So ye, I will kick off at both companies and I hope said person does get fired.

OP posts:
CommunistLegoBloc · 27/01/2019 11:58

It is not the delivery driver’s fault that the company has dicked you about.

To hope they get fired for this is sick. Do you know what their targets are? God, get a grip.

Riotingbananas · 27/01/2019 12:04

Might be biased because my Hermes man is absolutely lovely (and so busy he runs from his van to the house and back), but there's no need for anyone to be fired. The company issues and Hermes issues are separate. I'd go back to the company, speak to a manager and itemise all the issues. Ask them how they are going to compensate you for your time and that you do not wish to wait 72 hours for an investigation and want the item delivering/a refund within 24 hours. I had a similar issue with Amazon who said I'd have to wait for the investigation. I refused and they refunded immediately and gave me £20 credit.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 12:15

@Communist pretty sure it is entirely his fault that not only did he not deliver within the stated time but also faked my signature and lied.

iloveredwine · 27/01/2019 12:49

I sent a parcel on Monday with them. it was picked up and it's disappeared between the courier taking it to depot and it being dispatched at the hub. I'm not happy and neither is the person waiting for it.

iloveredwine · 27/01/2019 12:50

and our courier is lovely and have never had an issue before. he goes above and beyond usually.

Micah · 27/01/2019 13:00

Hermes are shit.

It depends on how busy they are and whether you’re on a convenient delivery route as to whether they’ll deliver.

I ordered several christmas gifts from a large department store at the end of november. It was dispatched in 5 parcels.

Parcel 1 was delivered, no issue, except I didn’t sign for it. Somebody did, but not me.
Parcel 2 was “lost” before it hit the local depot, only they kept saying they would deliver it within 48 hours for three weeks until they admitted they’d lost it.
Parcel 3 and 4 they refused to deliver as the “parcel was adressed incorrectly”. I contacted them on 5 occasions to tell them the address was exactly the same as parcel 1, and confirm the address was correct. Apparently they can’t deliver if there is no house number- we live in a converted barn so no number, just house name.
Parcel 5 i got an email to say it had been delivered. It hadn’t.

Funnily enough i ordered from a different high st store this week, and hermes managed to deliver with no issues. I strongly suspect in the busy run up towards christmas they just couldn’t be arsed.

Their twitter is full of pissed off people. I won’t use a store now if I know they use hermes.

chemenger · 27/01/2019 13:05

Our hermes driver is fantastic, really helpful and always pleasant, not that that helps you OP. Our previous one was hopeless.

Gooseygoosey12345 · 27/01/2019 13:57

Entirely their fault they didn't deliver? Couldn't possibly have been traffic, or a ridiculous amount of drops that they couldn't complete? It's a parcel, not a fucking life saving organ

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 15:16

@Gooseygoosey, entirely their fault they decided to lie and fake my signature yes!

OP posts:
DippyDuck123 · 27/01/2019 16:35

It's quite possible it was delivered and signed for at the wrong address.

Similar happened to me but with Yodel. I was told it had been delivered (it had not and I had checked our safe places- no note it was with a neighbour etc). Checked with tracking and there was a time the apparent delivery had occurred- I had been in all day and what's more is I have 24hr CCTV that proves otherwise. My order was with eBay and when I complained to them they checked with Yodel to be told that it had definitely been delivered and they have GPS that states it was delivered to my location. They absolutely refused to listen to me and ignored that I had Cctv evidence and the case was closed, leaving me out of pocket. 🤷‍♀️

CommunistLegoBloc · 27/01/2019 19:33

The signature thing is something that happens fairly regularly, as evidenced by this thread and countless others. Is it ideal? No. Is it because this guy has to meet unattainable targets or risk his job and therefore so much more? Yes.

So stop being so ridiculous harping on about getting him fired and have a think about how the relentless demands and expectations of people like you have created this impossible employment situation whereby people need their goods NOW and in order to keep up, corporations are exploiting workers.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 20:14

Don't give a monkeys about his targets. Doesn't give him the right to lie and fake my signature. A day later and still no parcel here so yes he thoroughly deserves to lose his job so i can only hope my complaining to the retailer will mean he does.

OP posts:
CommunistLegoBloc · 27/01/2019 20:17

Your privilege and complete lack of compassion are astounding. Utterly vindictive and nasty.

PinkGin24 · 27/01/2019 20:29

@Communist, he has committed fraud. Given your defence of him I assume you don't think any individual who commits fraud should be imprisoned? Though no doubt you would be the first to jump on a fraudulent banker...

OP posts:
CommunistLegoBloc · 27/01/2019 20:35

That is a completely flawless comparison OP! I applaud you.

Anyway, I’ll leave you to your fraud complaint. May it bring you all the vindication you so richly deserve.

DippyDuck123 · 27/01/2019 20:37

As I said before you can't be sure your delivery wasn't delivered to the wrong address. It's possible someone else has signed for it, therefore not faking your signature!

Don't get me wrong I've had a bad experience too but at this stage you don't know if an error has been made.
