I'm not sure black cats are better for families than any other cat.
They are overlooked in rescue centres, presumably because of the old nonsense that black cats are bad luck.
My little black cat, Jemima, is one of four, she's got the biggest personality.

Magic& her sister. Maia who died last year and Cheddar. All rescues from St Francis Persian rescue
