Do you think some females have The Power ?

& why.
I was just thinking about a conversation DP, his male friend & I had last summer.
They said I had ‘the power ‘ but were unable to define what they meant.
They said some women were beguiling & just had something about them.
For the record I’m just an ordinary, late 40s woman, sometimes funny & sometimes goofy 😂

It's je ne sais quoi

My farts were so bad the other day my friends dog sniffed his own arse, looked at me in disgust a and left the room. Closing the door behind itself.

I was pretty impressed by the power of my arse ?? Does that count ?? Is there a.special category ??

Hey, let's not let a woman claim any kind of attractiveness, eh? Let's all jeer and mock and shout her down! Honestly, for a forum that could be expected to be supportive to, and positive about women, the level of sheer nastiness here takes some beating.

helacells · 26/01/2019 02:20

I totally know what u mean we used to say 'she's got the pig pheromones' some women are plain and nothing outstanding but every guy wants to shag her, it is mysterious

BitOfFun · 26/01/2019 02:22

Charisma?

kaitlinktm · 26/01/2019 02:38

Bless you.

LadyandGent · 26/01/2019 02:45

I think the word you're looking for is Charisma!

I appear to have it. If you're a farmer lol.

Reversing it, it's power, prestige, good looks, a certain confidence, a certain way of shaking hands etc.

For me, it's the men in power at work, who have everyone almost bowing to them. Outside of work, it's ambitious guys who are quietly successful.

It's hard to define.

But if you've got it honey, well done you.

That's not what it is, and the op can start a thread saying she's attractive and no one would laugh, most would be supportive with yes a few bitchy comments, there has been many on here before, it's the whole "the power" thing and the wording that caused the hilarity.

Bloodybridget · 26/01/2019 08:06

Actually Bluntness I don't agree that if a woman started a thread saying she was attractive, she wouldn't be jumped on.

WhiteOrange · 26/01/2019 09:29

Genuinely asking what this is about? Is it in reference to the book The Power?

Parthenope · 26/01/2019 09:32

Bloody, it’s a completely nonsensical thread. If OP’s husband and friend, actually sitting in front of her, were not able to put into words the way in which she has this mysterious power of attraction, then it’s pretty unlikely that a bunch of strangers on the internet are going to get it.

TheCunkOfPhilomena · 26/01/2019 09:57

I found the power of Grayskull at the bottom of the ironing mountain and have popped it in a Tupperware box to keep it fresh.

UrsulaPandress · 26/01/2019 10:00

It was the goofiness that gave me the twitch.

OneOfTheGrundys · 26/01/2019 12:10

Tbf, I’d love either ‘power’. The sexy one or the killer one.
As a dumpy, chunky, pasty peasant type with short sight, buck teeth and a pot belly I can safely say I have never exuded any mysterious allure. My hair is thick and luscious in all the ‘wrong’ places and I manage spots and wrinkles all at the same time.
My ‘goofiness’ is just... goofiness. Not the charming type.
But that’s ok.
OP... I’m sorry if the thread took a silly turn. If you got it, great-the compliment has certainly stuck with you. You don’t need anyone’s approbation to feel ok about yourself though! I’m sure you are an intelligent, accomplished, lovely person in your own right.
