  1. But we only like about 3 of them so end up bickering over who’s having the shit mug 😂
Sitranced · 19/01/2019 13:56

10 mugs. 2 tea drinkers. (2000 takeaway cups and lids though but we do run a takeaway tea business)

userschmoozer · 19/01/2019 13:57

I have 2 for best coffee mugs.
2 for best tea mugs.
2 everyday best mugs
and a set of 4 everyday mugs.
and a couple of character mugs.
Plus a few mugs for builders that can get broken without me weeping uncontrollably.
Also a couple bought for me by the DC's.

and yes its just me that drinks tea and coffee Grin

Wow that's a lot, or do you have a large family, regular large groups of guests?

I just bought six in the sale to add to the six I have. One oversize mug has a broken handle so I use it as a bowl when I am due a dishwasher cycle.

Pommes · 19/01/2019 13:57

A set of 6 mugs
2 Marvel mugs for the DC
3 coffee cups
4 glass mugs

Plus a cupboard of spares out of sight.

userschmoozer · 19/01/2019 14:01

I can't be the only Mug Monica with grades of mugs.

FromDespairToHere · 19/01/2019 14:02

None. They're all in DD (19)'s bedroom.

Starlight90 · 19/01/2019 14:04

No shirty😂😂😂😂😂

They just accumulated! I have 2 i can choose for coffee in the morning. Can’t (won’t) drink of any other. The rest are just there.

I was ashamed to see the grime at the back of the cupboard where the “never used mugs” were😳

Oh lots - around 25 everyday ones plus a couple of tea services I've inherited (never used but are heirloom sets), I do use most the mugs on occasions as we host meetings from time to time

Tonightstheteriyakichicken · 19/01/2019 14:08

I can't be the only Mug Monica with grades of mugs.

No, same here.

BagofTeeth · 19/01/2019 14:08

Too many! We gave a bunch of decent ones we didn't use to a charity shop and binned badly chipped ones and we still have around 30 (plus 4 tiny ones that came with our coffee maker).

For some reason we must look like people who need mugs as people constantly gift us them too.

wowfudge · 19/01/2019 14:13

We have lots and I've been replacing the odd ones, ones I've gone off and ones which are odd sizes. I've kept them though - I don't like the good stuff being used outside, etc.

ChairinSage · 19/01/2019 14:14

24 mugs. They are mostly twos or threes of sets that were originally fours. I've got my tea mug, my coffee mug, DH and DCs have their own favourite mugs... we rarely have more than two guests at a time so I will have a clear out this afternoon and streamline the collection!

wowfudge · 19/01/2019 14:14

Teeth it's because of the chipped ones! Chipped mug and cup rims are unhygienic.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 19/01/2019 14:17

We have about 20, I have a sort out every year or two and get rid of the old chipped ones. I have about 6 'favourites' and avoid using most of the others if I can!

We also have 8 that match our portmerion dinner service but these are in a different cupboard and I only tend to use them if we have guests

Starlight90 · 19/01/2019 14:21

I also have a pressure cooker. Was my mums. Never used it! Scared of the damn thing.

fudge - the only chipped ones we keep are sentimental and at the back of the cupboard so don't get used. Guests get the good unchipped ones so they wouldn't know about them. I don't know if we're maybe hard people to buy for so it's just an "easy" gift possibly?

SpoonBlender · 19/01/2019 14:24

20ish, two people use them. We do use them for microwaving veg and whatnot as well as tea/coffee.
We don't ever run out - about 12 would be all we really need - and we're now on a "one out, one in" policy as the designated shelf is full.

Geekster1963 · 19/01/2019 15:02

Far too many! And like others I have my favourite two that I use all the time.

MrsPear · 19/01/2019 15:38

8 tea / instant coffee mugs
6 little expresso ones
I have few odd ones on the pantry shelves - handy if I need more.

Rockbird · 19/01/2019 15:42

474929273918374. Roughly.

BathTangle · 19/01/2019 15:43

Around 40. DH thinks it's ridiculous until my family come to stay and then he understands we need that many or we'd spend the whole day washing up mugs!

CatnissEverdene · 19/01/2019 15:47

I'd easily say we've got 50.... if not more. My DDs are obsessed with buying mugs, and I've got a soft spot for Emma Bridgewater ones even though they're a pain in the arse to handwash. I always come out of HomeSense with at least 2 Blush. I took about 12 to work the other day too for spares....

BackforGood · 19/01/2019 15:51

Far too many here, but so many are linked to memories / people.
I also like different mugs for different drinks - thick ones, china ones, little ones, over sized ones etc. Then ones I keep for 'best' (in essence, matching ones) and ones I give to the gardeners and other people likely to leave them outside, and so it goes on.
Plus, how many you have in the cupboard is a very different number from 'how many in the house', when you have teens that grow penicillin hoard them in their rooms.
