At least twenty, and I live alone. But they're all nice ones.

Probably 100.....

No idea why. I have an occasional coffee or lately, hot water honey and lemon. Damn cough!

Lots of gifts and ones I've bought on holiday. Or just took a fancy to . Nothing matches!!

CormoranStrike · 19/01/2019 16:39

I have many breeding pairs, clearly

wonkylegs · 19/01/2019 16:43

We have about 35 mugs plus 8 tea cups and if ILs come for the afternoon we seem to manage to go through all of them (it's only 2 extra adults FFS!)

HollowTalk · 19/01/2019 16:46

Do people really keep chipped mugs when they have others they can use? I understand if you keep them for sentimental reasons but why keep them otherwise?

Somerville · 19/01/2019 16:47

Dozens. Just counted 41 but more in dishwasher and probably teen bedrooms. The teens are only allowed to take the mismatched mugs to the rooms, not any of the tea cups and saucers or matching coffee cups.
My favourites are the twee Emma Bridgewater mugs that PIL’s always buy us, saying his/hers or our first names because my little act of rebellion is using the His/Mr/DHname ones.

hmmwhatatodo · 19/01/2019 16:49

8 mugs. 5 of which are matching. 1 was a personalised gift, 1 was a gift from a shop i like and 1 is a mug ive had since i was a teenager.
1 teacup with matching saucer (gift).
2 bigger oversized cup and saucers which again were a gift and are only used for hot chocolate.

In an ideal world I’d have precisely 6 mugs that all matched.

MrsElbadrama · 19/01/2019 17:05

Nearly 50? Nearly all non matching and only 2 of us. I love a nice mug, almost collect them I suppose

AdaColeman · 19/01/2019 17:07

16 altogether in regular use.
2 are large porcelain cups only used for hot chocolate.
Most are Denby for everyday sturdy use.
A couple are cheap & cheerful to be given to workmen, after a roofer broke a nice mug.

There are also a set of espresso cups and saucers, mainly used when DS visits.
Plus some little ones for jasmine tea with Chinese meals.

HJWT · 19/01/2019 17:17

6 mugs,glasses,plates,bowls etc etc 😁

PhilomenaButterfly · 19/01/2019 17:19
  1. Whenever I win a mug now, one gets given to a local charity.
Annasgirl · 19/01/2019 17:21

Counted 35😱 and yet we sometimes run out!!!

AwkwardSquad · 19/01/2019 17:24

We’ve only got eight for actually drinking out of. Maybe another eight in use as pen holders etc. Then about five at work. I obviously need to get some more in - looks like 40 or so is about right, judging by this thread Grin

yomellamoHelly · 19/01/2019 17:31

12 everyday ones. 4 glass (which dh uses a lot) and 4 bone china ones (which I use whenever possible)

ShahOfSplosh · 19/01/2019 17:34

1,716

RoseMartha · 19/01/2019 17:40

Probably about 40-50, but when we move and go our separate ways it will be a more manageable number each.
