DS came home with jumper on back to front

I found it funny. School jumper was on back to front. Don't know the circumstance but also aware he had PE yesterday.

Posted it on Facebook (I know....) and the amount of "OMG I can't believe the teacher left him like that" "I would be having a word - he might get picked on" "That's not on at all"

Christ almighty.

Would a back to front jumper hinder his learning? No.
Would it stop him from interacting with the other kids? No.
Would he be uncomfortable? No

Knowing my son, if it has been after PE which was at 9.30, he has dressed himself and refused to let the teacher turn it around. To me, it's no biggie and in some ways, if someone does say something to him,. it'll only teach him to dress himself properly and also to listen to the teachers.

It could be that he put it on 5 mins before leaving school and put his coat on straight away afterwards...

Surely in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't bloody matter and is NOT something that should be taken up with the bloody school...

DS used to do this all the time. It’s all part of learning to be independent etc. Never once thought to blame the teacher or expect them to deal with it.

Darling Timothy suffering the indignity of a visible seam

At least he's not come home in someone else's pants (DD2 I'm looking at you Grin )

Pissedoffdotcom · 15/01/2019 09:49

DD(6) once came home with her pinafore on inside out after PE 😂 was pretty amusing. I have to draw the line at shoes on the wrong feet tho as her feet are already unstable...we have an agreement with her teacher that shoes get corrected, everything else I'm not fussed 👌

Glad I wasn't being a slack parent.

No children were harmed during this devastating incident Grin

Mine did this all the time with jumpers and polo shirts. He was the tallest boy in his class in Primary, and he and the smallest boy (who was tiny) once came out in each other's trousers. DS looked as if he was wearing knee-length shorts and the other kid looked like Charlie Chaplin. They had had PE first lesson in the morning and walked around like that all day without noticing. They were in Year 5 at the time....

Pissedoffdotcom · 15/01/2019 09:53

Did you take a photo? It's mandatory for the 18th birthday bash wall of embarassment...

Eatmycheese · 15/01/2019 09:58

My eldest son has recently started school. Since September he has come out of reception class:

  • in someone else's shoes
  • jumper and polo shirt inside out and back to front
  • no socks under his shoes
  • my personal favourite:;trousers inside out and back to front.

He is getting better. They only learn through trial and error.

cantfindname · 15/01/2019 09:58

Judging by my Grandson it's a bonus he came home with a jumper at all Grin

MysweetAudrina · 15/01/2019 10:00

I met ds 9 after to school to be told in hushed tones that he wasn't wearing any underpants. He wore is swim shorts under his uniform that morning and they had swimming that day and he forgot to bring his underpants.

cjt110 · 15/01/2019 10:02

@Pissedoffdotcom Yep Grin

DD(6) actually prefers to wear dresses and jumpers back to front. Either nobody's noticed at school or they can't be bothered intervening. Either way we're all happy Grin

huuskymam · 15/01/2019 10:07

That's half my son's class after swimming. They're all 9, but in too much of a rush to start messing to get dressed properly.

allflownthenest · 15/01/2019 10:14

my DD used to go to school in a dress with no knickers. It never occurred to me to check she had put some on. once went in PE kit as that was 1st lesson with none on and when it can to getting changed her teacher had to find her a pair. When she was in nursery school her teacher said ' why are you clutching your dress like that' she replied while letting go 'because my kickers fall down if I don't' at which point they fell in a puddle around her ankles Grin

FourForYouGlenCoco · 15/01/2019 10:15

DD1 is 6 and still comes out with her shoes on the wrong feet occasionally. She came home once with 2 left shoes (one hers, one a size too small).
Once in reception she came out of school having painted her entire face red and black. It was hilarious. She looked a bit like an angry, 4-year old Two-Face (from Batman). I couldn’t stop laughing; she was very cross with me Grin

MERLYPUSSEDOFF · 15/01/2019 10:17

How do they lose socks though when they don't even have to take them off for PE?

LittleOwl153 · 15/01/2019 10:24

Yep - here is another one who would say that I am thankful that they came home with ALL their OWN uniform and not worry about how it was being worn...

Fortunately my DS reception class parents seem to have a better sense of humor as we have had quite some giggles over quite what happens when they get changed for PE. That said I have seen a classroom when its usual occupants are out on PE - you would think there had been a jumble sale in there - or someone had mistaken it for Primark given the amount of clothing strewn all over the place!

Quick, alert the governors!!!!

in fact, no, get your local MP involved!!!

I mean, do you even love your child??

Summerlove2306 · 15/01/2019 10:27

I hope the therapy your son will need because of this incident isn't too expensive! Xx

PeachRose · 15/01/2019 10:27

My son comes out of school with his coat on inside out on a regular basis. Yes it is noticeable but tbh his teacher is that busy organising 30 other 4 and 5 years olds she is probably just leaving that to me to sort him out. It gives us all a giggle in the playground Grin

RightOnTheEdge · 15/01/2019 10:34

Always know when it's been PE day at school because all the little ones come out with their clothes on inside out and back to front. It's cute I can't believe anyone would make a fuss about it.

My DS once came home from nursery with his entire uniform on backwards. I just thought it was really funny and at least he had had a go at dressing himself.

icannotremember · 15/01/2019 10:37

DS2 also came home with his jumper on back to front yesterday. He's in year 5 and 9 years old and appears to have survived the appalling trauma.

BellaGoth · 15/01/2019 10:40

DS is 5 and recently came back wearing a jumper that was:
a) backwards
b) not his
c) two sizes too small.
I put it on our class Facebook page and gpt all of the Grin responses I expected!

PivotPivotPivottt · 15/01/2019 10:44

I lost my skirt when I was in primary 3 after gym class. I was very upset and after searching the classroom and toilets the teacher noticed it was tucked into my gym shorts. My parents found it hilarious when I told them (I was traumatised Blush) and still to this day they bring it up Grin.
