What a massive stinking pile of shite

OP posts:
Klobluchar · 14/01/2019 03:25

That Facebook post didn’t talk about the characters in the film who were already diagnosed as seriously mentally ill who the demon or whatever it was didn’t seem to affect.

I rather enjoyed it.

BlackCatSleeping · 14/01/2019 03:33

I liked it, but I like things like The Walking Dead which have a similar vibe.

I can't really see why the OP is getting so upset about it.

GlitterPixie · 14/01/2019 03:43

I thought it was terrible, felt the premise wasn’t strong enough for a whole film it would have worked better as an episode of something (not sure what though) Didn’t find it tense or jumpy or anything just very predictable and dull. Found the characters very cliched too

OutOntheTilez · 14/01/2019 04:57

Oh no, what’s Sandra Bullock done to her nose?

I’ve not seen the movie, but my sister was talking it up a few weeks ago and she said it was really creepy. A co-worker of hers loved it too, but now I’m wondering if I should even bother.

I can't really see why the OP is getting so upset about it.

I think I know why actually. Many, many years ago when “Pretty Woman” starring Julia Roberts was released, everyone was talking it up and it got great reviews, it was a “must-see,” Julia Roberts was adorable, blah blah. When I finally saw it, I hated it and couldn’t understand what all the fuss was about. I was annoyed because I wasted my time, and to this day Julia Roberts annoys me. She’s a good actress and she was fine in the movie, but I just couldn’t get past the feeling that I completely wasted my time.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 14/01/2019 06:06

I quite enjoyed it. Not the greatest film ever, but it's entertaining.

JuneFromBethesda · 14/01/2019 07:38

My husband and I watched it last night and enjoyed it. It wasnt without flaws but I found the central story intriguing throughout.

Similar to A Quiet Place although AQP was much better - that was an amazing film.

I enjoyed Bird Box much more than Bandersnatch!

Theboldandthebeautiful1 · 14/01/2019 07:44

Agree. Can someone explain the end to me?? I get that it was a blind school but why was it safe to see the daylight there? And how did her non-blind doctor manage to escape the hospital and get to the blind school safely when everything was kicking off as Sandra and her sister left the appointment?
It really annoyed me!!

BlackCatSleeping · 14/01/2019 07:57

It was a covered courtyard, so the light could get through but they couldn’t see out.

CigarsofthePharoahs · 14/01/2019 09:19

I liked the film, but found the ending weak.
Can't help but feel it's been set up for a sequel.

golddustwomen · 14/01/2019 09:21

I loved it! Cried like a baby at the end when she gave the children names.

LowbrowVictoriana · 14/01/2019 09:39

Bit of an exaggeration, OP!

It’s not a modern classic or anything, but it’s entertaining with a few gripping moments. A bit of easy, disposable entertainment.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 14/01/2019 09:40

I thought it was good and enjoyed it but was waiting for an explanation of what it was and it didn't come.

ShatnersWig · 14/01/2019 09:42

No, the most recent worst film ever is Holmes and Watson. Prior to that it was The Babadook which I watched for the first time this weekend. Lulled into watching it by all the incredible reviews on the blu ray cover and Mark Kermode rating it one of his best films.

Seriously, what the fuck? Supposedly scary? Fuck off is it.

JuneFromBethesda · 14/01/2019 09:45

First Man is my most recent 'worst film ever'. I can't remember the last time I was so bored at the cinema, it was like watching paint dry.

HeyArthur · 14/01/2019 09:48

My teens & I really enjoyed it.

LowbrowVictoriana · 14/01/2019 10:09

Shatners I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who found The Babadook to be a pile of shit. It always comes up now (on here and other places) as being one of the best/scariest horror films. The scary bits were just that woman standing with a strange face making weird noises at the back of her throat. Rubbish.

HappyLazzer · 14/01/2019 10:23

My dh and I really enjoyed it. Everybody I know who has watched it has enjoyed it.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 14/01/2019 10:24

The Shape of Water was strange film. It's essentially a film in which a woman has sex with a fish-man. (How would that even happen)

ShatnersWig · 14/01/2019 10:28

@TaliZorah Have you heard of the film Splash starring Tom Hanks and Daryl Hannah from 1984?

Buckyball · 14/01/2019 10:29

I like BirdBox.

Am annoyed that I spent an hour and a half yesterday trying to watch Bandersnatch! What a load of crap.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 14/01/2019 10:30

Yeah. That would be just the same. It's only upside is, Darryl Hannah could take a human form.

Nesssie · 14/01/2019 10:32

I liked it.

The blind school said that the birds warn them when the 'wind' is coming so I assume those that can see then cover their eyes.

Also enjoyed A Quiet Place. I like suspense films without the scary, jumpy parts.

Angelinthenight · 14/01/2019 10:35

We watched it sat, i kinda liked it but wish the guy made it with them and that u got to see what it was and who were that people that can after them that were driving about in the car?

Joinourclub · 14/01/2019 10:38

I thought it was boring and so was bandersnatch. I also noticed ‘the nose’ and thought that sb was too old to play a pregnant woman. She’s 54!

JuneFromBethesda · 14/01/2019 12:05

54!?? She looks bloody amazing for 54. I didn’t notice her nose at all and I’m usually fairly alert to film stars’ plastic surgery 😄

Angel the people in the car were the insane people who weren’t affected by the wind/evil presence. (Reading that back it does sound completely bonkers)
