Help! Really bad period and shoulder pain

Chillyegg · 13/01/2019 20:06

I am in excruciating pain. I started with terrible shoulder and kneck pain on Thursday morning. Then also my period in the same day. I havnt had a period in a few months and have completely come of hormonal contraception because it was really effecting my mental health. So this is my first one that’s completely “natural”. I’m in excruciating pain. Paracetomal and ibruprophen do not touch the pain. The shoulder and kneck pain is awful. How the deck can I make this better. Hot water bottles don’t help the tablets don’t help and the flow is ridiculously heavy and dark. I’m considering calling in sick!

Call 111 they will advise if you can wait for a gp in the morning or if you need more immediate help.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 13/01/2019 20:32

I agree, go to A&E. You can die from an eptopic and the shoulder pain is a real red flag.

Handprints2018 · 13/01/2019 20:55

Go to A&E. It could be ectopic. My friend's ruptured, she could have died, its not something you put off. She had no idea she was pregnant either, she got the bad shoulder pain too.

Another vote for A&E

peachypetite · 13/01/2019 20:58

The morning?? Get a taxi or a friend to drive you

JennyOnAPlate · 13/01/2019 20:59

Please go to a&e tonight, don't wait until morning. An ectopic pregnancy can kill you.

Pastaagain78 · 13/01/2019 21:00

Please go to hospital. An ectopic pregnancy cannot wait until morning.

RedemptiveCrocodile · 13/01/2019 21:01

At least ring 111, op. Ask for professional advice - then follow it.

guineapig1 · 13/01/2019 21:01

Another one agreeing with previous poster and saying please go and get checked out tonight.

AwdBovril · 13/01/2019 21:03

Please don't wait. The NHS will not turn you away for a possible ectopic, they didn't with me, & my symptoms were much less obvious. Go now.

HardAsSnails · 13/01/2019 21:03

Another voice saying 111 or A&E. If it's an ectopic, and it really sounds like it could be, you need seeing ASAP.

sausageees · 13/01/2019 21:03

I would call 111 and see what they say. Ectopic pregnancy can be dangerous and hormone levels can be too low to show on tests.

EnidButton · 13/01/2019 21:04

You can't wait until morning sorry. Ectopic pregnancy is very serious and life threatening.

At the very least call 111 now.

Autumnnymph · 13/01/2019 21:08

OP don’t wait -
Call a taxi and get to the A&E now - is there a friend or family close by who can help you ? At the very least call 111

BIWI · 13/01/2019 21:08

Please at the very least call 111

cheesywotnots · 13/01/2019 21:19

How are you OP, have you called for medical help.

BusySittingDown · 13/01/2019 21:23

Another one here to say please don't wait until morning! Although hopefully you won't read this as you'll have already gone and got checked out.

Hope you're ok ChillyEgg Flowers

babysharkah · 13/01/2019 21:50

You need to get seen. Shoulder pain is a massive warning sign.

MrsKCastle · 13/01/2019 21:53

Just to echo everyone else, my immediate thought just on seeing your title was ectopic pregnancy.

Please get seen tonight.

BillywigSting · 13/01/2019 21:55

Another one saying ectopic. These are classic symptoms, especially the shoulder pain.

Hope you have gone to A&E op

LoveWasAccidental · 13/01/2019 22:25

Please do go to A and E. Get a taxi if your partner can't drive you.

YippeeKayakOtherBuckets · 13/01/2019 22:27

Have you gone yet?

TheFairyCaravan · 13/01/2019 22:34

Years ago there was a similar thread where it did turn out the op had an ectopic pregnancy. Please don't wait until morning it might be too late

BifsWif · 13/01/2019 22:38

Please go, if it is ectopic then it can be life threatening if left.

peachypetite · 13/01/2019 22:50

Hopefully the silence means OP has gone!
