He's written something for the Daily Mail.

LTB?

pops on hard hat

In fairness, since the change of editor The DM has been highlighting a number of cases of violent against women which other outlets have been totally ignoring.

They reported in detail about Natalie Connolly and have offered a reward for the guy who went on the run after killing his date on a speedboat.

I still have my problems with them, but credit where it’s due, they’re doing more in that regard than The Guardian.

delboysskinandblister · 09/01/2019 21:21

How do you know The Daily Mail is the only one? There could be many many other's he is writing for. The Lady? He may claim to have been thinking of you the whole time but what was he thinking?

Is he prepared to repair your relationship? Is he willing to cut all ties with the DM?

Be prepared for the lies OP. They all follow the script.

"Oh, I didn't buy the Telegraph, I just found it on the table at work". Then it'll be, "Well I bought the Mail, but I wasn't going to read it". You won't get the truth all in one go.

I'm so sorry OP. Hugs.

Is this a humblebrag? Grin

Bettercallsaul1 · 09/01/2019 21:32

Has he been paid for the piece? Could he cancel the cheque?

TheFirstOHN · 09/01/2019 21:33

Could he cancel the cheque?

Good lord. Whether you need to LTB or not depends on what he wrote for them?

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 09/01/2019 21:35

Delboy is right.

The Lady.... maybe even The Spectator....

Does he "work late" and sometimes buy you unexpected presents?

NicoAndTheNiners · 09/01/2019 21:35

I wrote a healthcare type article for the DM once. Double page spread, they paid me £700 and this was about ten years ago. I consoled myself with the fact it wasn't political or anti immigrants or anti women, etc.

ShowOfHands · 09/01/2019 21:36

It's probably your fault op.

Hth.

gottastopeatingchocolate · 09/01/2019 21:37

So sorry, OP.

Kewcumber · 09/01/2019 21:37

To be fair, if what he wwrote was "Fuck off Daily Mail" it would be forgivable.

NicoAndTheNiners · 09/01/2019 21:37

I've also written for The Sunday Times and the daily mirror.

DM pay the best, daily mirror next best. Sunday Times very poor, I had to write the article and they said I'd only be paid if they used it and they might decide not to run it....if they decided not to I wouldn't be paid. They did use it but payment was only £200 for their article.

This thread has given me a right laugh!

I’m so sorry, OP. You must feel like your whole marriage was a lie. To be married for 20yrs, then discover he’s not who you though he was. 😢

AdoraBell · 09/01/2019 21:41

😱 I have no words OP I cannot begin to imagine your stress levels.

Ta1kinPeace · 09/01/2019 21:44

I just hope they paid him well.
And that he writes for the Mirror next, so that the Mail can get in a froth Grin

Fightthebear · 09/01/2019 21:45

Can we expect a deletion message soon for an identifying thread Grin

lynxca16 · 09/01/2019 21:47

I also hope he is paid well

jessstan2 · 09/01/2019 21:48

When I started reading this thread I thought he had perhaps written about your successful 20 year marriage. Phew! What a relief that was not the case.

Journo type people go to whoever pays them. I wouldn't worry about it. The HateMail is not bad on health issues.

Give thanks he didn't write to Deirdre Saunders.

derxa · 09/01/2019 21:50

I love the DM website. It's my favourite.

MissMalice · 09/01/2019 21:50

Maybe try a spa day to take your mind off it?

Yabbers · 09/01/2019 21:50

What funny but not funny at all post is this meant to be in full?

Is this comment meant to make sense?

OP, really sorry about your predicament. But he must be feeling terribly dirty, maybe run him a dettol bath.
