Massive, annoying children’s toys!

DailyMailFail101 · 04/01/2019 09:17

Over the years my children’s Auntie and a Uncle have bought my children toys that are so big I have nowhere to put them, annoying with silly songs and sounds and totally stupid. Their first son is about to turn one and I would love to be as generous as them and shower my nephew in a massive, annoying can’t fit anywhere type of toy that he will love but they will hate to repay them 😁 any suggestions welcome!

Drum set. As a little side present a plastic recorder.

Jellycatspyjamas · 04/01/2019 10:01

Paw patrol lookout tower, paw patroller and sea patroller are all big, noisy and much loved. Toot toot garage is so fucking annoying and some sets are huge.

Whitelisbon · 04/01/2019 10:10

The vtech ride on train. Its huge, makes noises, sings irritating songs, and comes with bricks to get lost.

And, for his 3rd birthday, can I suggest a giant tub of glitter?

ArfArfBarf · 04/01/2019 10:13

Can I suggest this:

My sister used to say to, just wait till you have kids!

She's just bought my little girl a pop up princess tent that is huge and currently taking up half my living room lol

shecamefromgreece · 04/01/2019 10:22

Someone bought me son bat bot for Xmas it's nearly the same height as him no idea where the hell im going to put it!

EyUpOurKid · 04/01/2019 11:10

Anything by toot toot. Someone bought us the construction tower lady week. Ita too big to go anywhere, won't fold. Im going to have to give it away.

Or. Cosy coupe. But given already assembled Grin

DailyMailFail101 · 04/01/2019 12:09

Some brilliant ideas thank you! Yes I sadly have lots of the toot toot range, so I know how irritating it can be!

I think the cosy coupe and a slide might be a good shout for their recently landscaped garden Grin

Vetch bounce and dance thingy. Bought for my sister for exactly the same reason!

tinofbeans · 04/01/2019 14:55

A musical ride on car that will be the favourite toy for the next three years (I'm looking at you, MIL!) ShockHmmGrin

madmum5811 · 04/01/2019 14:57

what a laugh this thread is. All self assembly blooming great towers of plastic do my head in.

scrappydappydoo · 04/01/2019 15:01

Bounce and spin zebra - it was the bane of my life. It is huge and cannot be folded or stored away. In fact just typing it has brought the song back into my head 12 years later my dc used bash it so it played the tune and then run away cackling. Thanks sil

EdtheBear · 04/01/2019 15:08

I have a big daft toot-toot set, comes in various 'exclusive' editions. But basically it has 2 tracks that start side by side. One goes straight down with a loop at the bottom the other twists round the tower.

I stupidly assumed it could be taken apart and stored in a box. Instead its been sat in my living room for a year Hmm

LokiDokiArtichoki · 04/01/2019 15:13

2 words.

Ball pool.

(With 500 accompanying balls)

JanuarySnowdrops · 04/01/2019 16:19

Floor piano. To put in the porch because "look! It fits perfectly" so every time someone goes in or out it's with their own theme tune. Dc too young to understand why it shouldn't live there until the day it stopped working oops I cut the wire from the battery box no idea why it's not working, we'll ask grandad when he comes over, let's put it safely in this cupboard until then Grin

HalfBloodPrincess · 04/01/2019 16:38

A recorder.
A harmonica.

edwinbear · 04/01/2019 16:49

You need the Fisher Price Bounce and Spin Zebra. It takes up a good corner of the room, makes loud, irritating noises and also eats expensive D batteries.....

ShatFic · 04/01/2019 16:56

Definitely the toot toot garage and track! Annoying voices for the vehicles and a track that always needs extra pieces to avoid random dead ends.

Or the Thomas Ride On Train and Track. That fucker took up my whole living room.

howhowhow · 04/01/2019 17:04

Was also going to suggest bounce and spin zebra.

Massive kitchen (not the Ikea one too classy!) and loads of plastic food and crockery. Will be hugely loved but the bits will get cycled all over the room regularly. Big shop is similar.

Vetch anything, but particularly toot toot. As a bonus it's worth nothing if they try and sell it.

Love the idea of a ball pit with 500 balls.

Ideally you need something big that comes with dozens of tiny pieces. They are really fucking annoying (play-mobile police station or fire station in particular but no good for 1 year old).

BooRad · 04/01/2019 17:14

One of those sets with a paddling pool type thing and loads of little balls to go inside."how lovely" I thought when my SIL bought it for DD's first birthday (12 years ago). I was ready to send a hit man over when I subsequently spent every walking moment picking up or tripping over the balls.

happyasasandboy · 04/01/2019 17:15

My vote also goes to the bounce and spin zebra. Make sure you assemble it while you're there otherwise they'll claim he's a bit little yet (he is) and put it in the loft. If you get it set up when you're there, the one year old will love to hold on and jump, thus getting many months of noisy enjoyment out of it before he can even mount the thing Wink

Zwischenwasser · 04/01/2019 17:24

This

www.amazon.co.uk/VTech-First-Steps-Baby-Walker/dp/B0002MG6ZE/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?keywords=vtech+walker&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1546622444&sr=8-2

The song and noises are fucking annoying, and the damn thing will be bashed into every doorframe in the house, there won’t be a shred of paint left.

Better still, the song is a massive earworm, it will haunt their sleep for years to come. My colleague (with a toddler) was equally Imans horrified that I can still sing that song 9 years later....

Zwischenwasser · 04/01/2019 17:24

*imans = impressed.
