Massive, annoying children’s toys!

DailyMailFail101 · 04/01/2019 09:17

Over the years my children’s Auntie and a Uncle have bought my children toys that are so big I have nowhere to put them, annoying with silly songs and sounds and totally stupid. Their first son is about to turn one and I would love to be as generous as them and shower my nephew in a massive, annoying can’t fit anywhere type of toy that he will love but they will hate to repay them 😁 any suggestions welcome!

Mine are a bit older but this year both boys were bought a harmonica by their grandparents.

So when they went for the day we sent them round with harmonicas in pockets Smile

@Zwischenwasser

Hello pup is calling do you want to play with me?

Ozgirl75 · 04/01/2019 17:33

Yes! And that puppy one is terrifying when the batteries run down as the song is sung in a spooky slow voice and will spring into action in an otherwise silent room, making you crap yourself.

Oh plastic balls definitely. They'll be finding them behind the sofa forever.

A whistle or recorder.
Anything vtech.
Annoying giggling monkey.
Playdoh.

I've only been in small houses since having kids. Some gems I've received were:

Child's electronic drum kit.
Cosy coupe (ordered online to be delivered direct to our house by the in laws, weeks before the event, knowing we had no garage, shed, or anywhere to store it out of sight.)
Huge toy work bench complete with tools and drills
Huge plastic easel
Ride on digger

If you want to be really evil some little extras of slime, glitter, finger paints and kinetic sand. And when child is older I thoroughly recommend Hama beads/aqua beads/Beados etc Grin

Toot fucking toot Angry

user1andonly · 04/01/2019 19:42

My youngest is 19. Reading this thread takes me back to many a heart sink moment as they unwrapped another huge thing!

That zebra is amazing Grin

SandettieLightVesselAutomatic · 04/01/2019 19:47

If you still have any of the big, annoying toys OP, surely it's time to pass them on to your nephew as your children have outgrown them?

Be sure to mention how much your children loved them, and how much you're looking forward to watching your nephew play with them whenever you visit (can't have them donating them elsewhere, now, can we?) Grin

jollyjester · 04/01/2019 19:53

Hello puppy calling do you want to play with me... rage inducing

Anything pop and play. I think we were kindly gifted the elephant. Its loud and shoots balls at you.

Vtech nursery rhymes book. It will randomly play music even when you're nowhere near it!

GreenDinosaur · 04/01/2019 22:07

Toot toot is the work of the devil! Angry

EssentialHummus · 04/01/2019 22:14

A full set of vtech anthropomorphic cars. I haven’t seen the police car since last October and I still have the fucking song stuck in my head.

misstiggiwinkle · 04/01/2019 22:26

Ah these items are my MILs forte.

The Fischer price pink singing tea pot. Not big but portable and loud so comes fucking everywhere with us.

Little Tykes boulder truck. Just clatters all the time

Playmobile. With its 10000 tiny pieces that I spend my life trying to find and remove from my 1 yr olds mouth. (Given by MiL to my 3yr old ds - does she want her other grandchild to die?!)

Any kind of ride on tractor/truck/digger etc with some sort of trailer/scoop etc that dcs can fill with all manner of their parents belongings and then redistribute them around the house. AngryAngryAngry

HawkeyeInConfusion · 04/01/2019 23:12

Some excellent suggestions on this thread.

As a little extra, you could add a VTech Little Singing Alfie Bear. Unless they have changed the design it has no off switch. Or volume control. So will randomly start singing loudly under the cot just after the child has gone to sleep - waking said child and scaring the beejuzus out of the parent. And its song is flamin annoying. And a catchy earworm.

1hamwich4 · 04/01/2019 23:16

Melissa and Doug wooden box of wooden instruments. Worthily Educational, no batteries, years worth of 'fun'. Multiple irritants so hard to kill get rid of in a clean sweep.

I knew DHs cousin didn't like us when that one turned up...

notsurewhatshappening · 04/01/2019 23:21

I'd buried the memory of Alfie Bear and Hello Pup walker until this thread came along. The horror has now been unearthed. Guaranteed I'll wake up singing one or both!

BornInAThunderstorm · 04/01/2019 23:24

My vote is for the cosy coupe. It’ll ruin their lawn, plus it comes with the added bonus of being one of the most time consuming, infuriating items I have ever had to build

BillywigSting · 04/01/2019 23:28

'I'm a friendly light up bear, I love you, you love me'.

That bloody Alfie bear is the devil's own spawn!

Can I recommend the vtech (I think) ride on bike and rocker with removable dashboard/steering wheel that can be attached to things. It lights up and sings and never fucking shuts up.

It's blue and red and yellow bloody awful

Mammyloveswine · 04/01/2019 23:34

Some toot toot sets are ok as they can be stashed in the kallax boxes... not the frigging coal mine or bloody pet hotel that take up all the space on top of the kallax.. my son loves trains and cars and tracks but couldn't give a shit about the toot toot.. it's so expensive though so I feel bad just giving it away...

This year my 3 year old got an electric "fire engine" ride on bike (I like in a tiny tiny house) and a frigging BURGER VAN... plus I got him a frigging train table as he's train mad... I bought the baby some horrendous plastic play and explore tunnel that I chose at one month post partum as it was a "bargain"... He is now one and I regret my hormonal purchase of something that is the length of my living room...

Mammyloveswine · 04/01/2019 23:35

Omg billy that vtech bike/rocket was horrendous... I left the house once and it said "goodbye, see you soon" 😱😱 it's now an outside toy

This has to be the most annoying toot-toot
