Why are you awake?

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 05:43

Seems to be quite a few people around this morning, though admittedly I'm not usually awake at this time of morning

I have D&V for the 3rd time this week. DC have had it once each. I'm terribly dehydrated but can't keep much down. I have more dioralyte and Lucozade coming in the morning in the hope that I'll be able to drink by then. I've lost 11lbs, missed out on a night out and had to cancel NYE plans. On my own with 2 DC and wondering how the hell I will get through the day on about 30mins sleep.

So why are you up/have been up early? Something equally as shitty? Come have a moan!

I've got jet lag and haven't managed to get to sleep yet. We flew home from the States overnight on Friday and my body clock still feels all over the place.

Hope you soon feel better!

Isadora2007 · 31/12/2018 05:46

Not as shitty as your situation thankfully.
Up with a poorly baby who can only sleep upright on someone as he is full of the cold. Took over from 4am. Will go back to bed around 8/9 thankfully.
Get well soon OP

Heratnumber7 · 31/12/2018 05:50

DH is snoring Sad
And I've had so little exercise and fresh air over Christmas I've done nothing to make myself tired.

mouse26 · 31/12/2018 05:50

Decided to get up with dp who has to go to work. The plan was to stay up and do stuff but think I'll go back to bed when he leaves Grin

CuriousMama · 31/12/2018 05:51

I have a heavy period and got up to empty my mooncup (TMI) for the second time. I've just ordered a super Jenny large after doing a quiz to determine the best mooncup for your flow, cervix ect. SmileWine

Hope you feel better soon OP. And that you can keep something down to give you energy?

GinIsIn · 31/12/2018 05:51

Toddler won’t sleep unless it’s on me so have been up all night trying to put him back to bloody bed.

Serwaa · 31/12/2018 05:51

I got up to see my husband off to work.
Can't seem to go back to sleep.

AJPTaylor · 31/12/2018 05:52

Husband snoring. Can't switch my mind off.house full of people.

CuriousMama · 31/12/2018 05:54

Heratnumber7 I can relate. My dh snores. He didn't so much last night ( or this night should I say) but had a cold and was horrendous the rest of the week. He's better usually at the moment as he's at a decent weight.

blibblibs · 31/12/2018 05:55

I'm waiting on a bus to take me to work 😔

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 05:57

KissHerYouBrilliantFool I've never had jetlag but it does sound awful, I hate not being able to sleep!

Isadora2007 I hope Little one feels better soon, wayhey for taking it in turns!

Heratnumber7 peacefully snoring people are the worst, have you tried a little kick shake?

mouse27 going back to bed sounds lovely!

DS woke for a bottle but has gone back to sleep. Sods law they'll sleep in until 9am or something!

Up for work Sad

Iwannabail · 31/12/2018 05:58

Waiting for newborn to go back to sleep. She is a little grunting machine!!! Keeps me awake even when she does sleep!

BlackBeltInPresentWrapping · 31/12/2018 05:58

Up here, as is unfortunately often the case, with a non sleeping DC, who has also started now with the family flu-like bug. Lots of snottiness, coughing, aching, grumping and overheating going on. I haven't been to sleep yet, but DC has just dropped off, so I'm off to try pronto! I'm hoping no one else wakes early so that I can catch a few hours.

I feel your pain about facing the day on little or no sleep. Get well soon, OP, and your baby too, Isa. Wishing everyone the sleep we need in 2019!

Northumberlandlass · 31/12/2018 05:58

I had a migraine yesterday & went to bed at 1830. Woke at 0445 .....i feel better though! Just hope no one is expecting me to see the NY in 😂

Flower777 · 31/12/2018 05:59

I just got in from work.

todayiwin · 31/12/2018 06:01

The fact I don't want to go out tonight. I hate going out. I was a hell raiser before DC.

I'm lying here hatching my plan. I will arrive slightly late (30mins ...) leave by 9:30pm. I'll be on the sofa by 10:15pm ready for bed.

I do have an active social life, just not around "going out getting drunk"

It's hard to believe pre DC I was out 5 nights a week, working and living in London.

For context. I am still single and a lone parent (DC sperm donor). I am the most content I've ever been in life.

sashh · 31/12/2018 06:05

It's morning and I'm one of those really annoying morning people.

OP you will get through the day by moving you and your duvet to the settee and staying there.

Depending on the age of your children they can fend for themselves. If they are too young for that then order food from a take away.

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 06:06

Wow didn't I x post a bit

curiousmama I've been wondering about trying a mooncup for ages as sanpro make me sore. How do you go about knowing what fits?

Fanellamaxwellspony ah ha, luckily they do learn to sleep eventually, my DS 20 months has cracked it this last month.

serwaa that's love right there, I'd have stayed in bed Grin

AJPTaylor I find playing music quietly that I can sing along to in my head helps me switch off a little?

blibblibs it's far too early, poor you. Hope you're able to have a good day

I now seem to have kidney pain Hmm think I'll try to drink more. Any tips for getting through the day with a 6 and 1.8 year olds? Thankfully the 6 year old can do basic things like make sandwiches, toast and drinks. And she's very helpful.

I'm going to a gym class at 7am. I never sleep well if I have to be somewhere early, I worry I'm going to sleep in.

JustanotherCHRISTMASuser01 · 31/12/2018 06:09

up for work - absoloutly exhausted
Sorry to read how poorly you all are.

CuriousMama · 31/12/2018 06:13

I bought the size B mooncup which is for those who've had babies. But there's so many menstrual cups. I did an American quiz I'll get the link. Not sure if there's a UK version?

Blackladybug · 31/12/2018 06:13

Yes sofa, duvet and dioralyte. The only online delivery I could get to deliver my dioralyte this morning was Morrison's who needed a £40 minimum spend and £6.95 odd delivery fee. Which wouldn't be so bad except I had my regular Tesco shop delivered yesterday so I didn't actually need anything. I've bought things I'll always need, nappies 3 for £15 Pampers! And laundry stuff. I have OCD and I'm in a constant state of panic. Bloody marvellous! Feels good to have a little pity party Blush
