We don't do anything big, usually it's a Chinese, movie and a sleepover/cinema style set up in the living room, usually by 12 we've either all drifted to sleep or are really settled and hear the fireworks to tell us it's new year. This year we're going to visit family for lunch so instead of a Chinese when we're home we'll have a bit of a buffet tea and then do the usual. We've basically done the same thing every evening from the 22nd onwards and it'll continue for a few days after new year. It's been a tough old year so We're definitely enjoying the rest of the time x

It’s my daughter’s death night so weed her grave, put out her gifts and light a candle. Also not sure that DC3 won’t decide to put in an appearance. Lots of contractions today, not sure how I feel about a joint birthday/death night.

@TheDisillusionedAnarchist I've only just seen this and I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter. It must be a very difficult time of year for you.

And I hope baby 3 waited until today at least to make an appearance (or decided to stay inside for a bit longer). Xx

Blimey @TheDisillusionedAnarchist

I too have only just seen your post. I can't Imagine the pain of losing a child, let alone at this time of year.

Hoping that all went well / goes well with DC3.

My sister was born on the day my mum lost one of her parents (the actual day, not the anniversary) and it was hugely traumatic. Time made it easier though and my mum now likes the fact that sister's birthday falls when it does. Gives her a positive focus, at a very difficult time.
