Does anyone have an Eve mattress or similar?

What’s it like? We bought a new decent sprung (poss orthopaedic, I can’t remember) two years ago, and despite DH claiming our previous one was too soft and the fact I could probably sleep on a central reservation if needs be, we’ve come to the conclusion this new one is giving us both a bit of a battering.

We’re quite tempted by Eve and the like, in no small part because the reviews are great and they’ll take the bloody thing away if it doesn’t suit. Any first-hand experiences here most welcome!

The Emma sounds ideal, every night is so painful. Are they soft?
Where do you find the 30% discount if you don't mind me asking, I can't find it.

ChesterGreySideboard · 28/12/2018 22:33

I had a Casper but it went back. I had a cheap memory foam mattress before that.
I have Eve now and love it. We have one on both beds.
It is very firm and I find it doesn’t sleep too hot, I’m a lady if a certain age.

BarbaraofSevillle · 28/12/2018 22:34

We have a Leesa, it's amazing. Only complaint is that it doesn't have handles so makes changing the fitted sheet hard work in our cramped bedroom, but we manage.

I'm sure I've seen either Emma or Eve on sale this Christmas. Or look for a discount code, there's always one available somewhere.

TBH, I think all these type of mattresses are much of a muchness and the main reason we have a Leesa was due to the Scummy Mummies advertising, they were all just about the same, price wise.

andantecantabile · 28/12/2018 22:37

I have a simba and I adore it, it's the most comfortable thing ever.

MairzyDoats · 28/12/2018 22:38

Casper and it's amazing - I didn't like it for the first couples ôf weeks (not used to memory foam) but now I wouldn't go back.

saltymofo · 28/12/2018 22:39

I hate bouncy mattresses. We have a Leesa on our bed and the DCs have Eve mattresses on theirs. The Eve is firmer than the Leesa but all are so comfortable.

I find the Leesa is quite warm to sleep on which is nice in winter but it wasn't a problem at all during the summer to say how hot it was this year. I am also a woman of a certain age and don't find it any worse than the sprung mattress we had before.

nastyhoneybadger · 28/12/2018 22:45

We have a simba and it is great, although it is very different to the old sprung one we had before. I've had to change my pillow configuration a couple of times to get my sleeping position just right but it is lovely now.
It smelled WEIRD when it first arrived though. Sort of chemically and not totally pleasant. I was in the throws of morning sickness with DD and I can still remember the smell of it now, almost 2 years on 🤮
It took almost a month for the smell to go and it is fine now, fortunately!

QueenOfIce · 28/12/2018 22:48

We have the Simba, it's going back. After a week I feel broken I've never had such a sore back. I need a softer version!

MarcieBluebell · 28/12/2018 22:49

I have an Emmas. Its good but I have put it on a divan and needs a slatted bedframe. I'm two months in and love foam I just hope it keeps its shape.

MiaFarrowsWheelbarrow · 28/12/2018 22:49

We have the Emma, bought it a few weeks ago on the strength of the Which Best Buy recommendation and the Black Friday deal they had on their website. We had genuinely been researching alternatives and thinking about it for nearly a year. We love it, so comfortable but supportive for sleep at the same time. We no longer wake with aching backs and I no longer get bounced around when my husband moves around or gets into bed after me (he weighs twice as much as I do).

There are two downsides as I can see so far, but we love it too much to want to return it or look for another brand. The bad bits are, when you sit on the edge of the bed there is no support, you sink, so I have taken to putting my socks on standing up! The second is a similar problem, maybe too much info but there isn't much support when you are DTD. But we will find a way around that. Best nights sleep in ages trumps the downsides.

trumpstinycock · 28/12/2018 22:50

I have a £100 voucher for an Eve mattress if it's any use to anyone.

We have had ours for 3 months (the hybrid) and absolutely love it.

DM me for the code as it has identifying info in the code itself.

NorksAreMessy · 28/12/2018 22:51

Eeeeeeeevvvvvveeeee. We have them all over the house, bought mostly as ‘tried it didn’t like it’ from Wowcher.

They get completely re-covered, cleaned and revoked and are then half price from Wowcher or similar.

The beds are bliss and my back had never been better

HelloToJasonIsaacs · 28/12/2018 22:52

DD has a simba from John Lewis. Not to my taste (I can’t be having with any foam in my mattresses at all) but she loves it.

NorksAreMessy · 28/12/2018 22:52

Revoked? Revoked? Stupid autocarrot!

REPACKED

CluelessMillenial · 28/12/2018 22:52

I have a leesa and an emma. We love the leesa. We tried the emma but it was too firm and made my hip ache. We got emma to send their topper (free) to make it softer. Still wasn't right. So went back to our leesa. The emma is now on our spare bed. Emma is medium/firm, with topper medium and the leesa is a softer medium.

WisestIsShe · 28/12/2018 22:54

There are couple of Eve mattresses on Wowcher at the moment up to 40% off, I was tempted too.

LookImAHooman · 28/12/2018 22:55

Norks getting on well tonight, then Grin Thanks for the tip off. Think DH will want new, though.

Marcie I found this on their website - does the shipping documentation say something different? We also have a divan and I hadn’t realised that was a consideration.

The Emma is a low-maintenance mattress. It is able to lay on any surface. It doesn't matter whether it is lying on the ground, on a box spring or on a slat frame, Emma is a mattress that fits every lifestyle. The most important thing is that the surface is clean and dry. You should have no problem using the Emma mattress with a slatted frame.

I didn't like the Emma and returned it. We have a Casper and a Simba. Love them both. The Emma was thinner and not so comfortable

LifeofClimb · 28/12/2018 22:55

I have the eve and love it! It’s quite firm and you can get toppers if you prefer it softer.
I just bought towels from them in the sale Blush there’s 20% off and I’ve got the refer a friend link (£100 off) from my order... if you want it then PM me!

LookImAHooman · 28/12/2018 22:57

Clueless that’s interesting - I think Which? put the Emma at a softness score of 8 (1 being hardest, 10 softest). I’d prefer something on the medium rather than v firm side.

LookImAHooman · 28/12/2018 22:57

Thanks, Life! I’ll do that if we go with Eve Smile

LifeofClimb · 28/12/2018 23:02

Btw if you find any memory foam mattress too hot, try putting a protector on it, and possibly a standard topper - I have both and ot keeps it cool throughout the year. Without a protector, it’s a bit warmer!

Fyi the eve you can sit on the edge with reasonable good support and dtd is absolutely fine - slightly harder work because you don’t have the bounce to help but a good work out Grin and very very quiet...

volluto · 29/12/2018 08:37

I'm about to buy two Eve mattresses and wioukd love a code if possible please.

trumpstinycock · 29/12/2018 08:46

@volluto I have DM'd you the code.
