You would have thought that if your children are 17 and 23....

....you wouldn’t have to write a letter from Father Christmas in the special magic writing and wait til they are asleep to put out the presents under the tree and fill the stockings? Well, wouldn’t you?????

Grin Do you think they still believe? Really? Really really?

Doyouavocado · 25/12/2018 00:28

What?

Gettingbackonmyfeet · 25/12/2018 00:29

Lol I'm sorry OP no I guess you wouldn't but my ds1 is 6 and beginning to question Santa...i confess to hoping he insists on the charade for many more years lol

But no one wouldn't assume you would have to do that at that age

(Although I work with LD YP and we do have to sometimes with them )

I'm 22, got a mortgage I Feb so first Christmas away from my DM, sister and DSD. Up until then we always have stockings filled in the front room covered in glitter from 'father Christmas'
Went over tonight for Chinese and much to my disgust my sister has told me her stocking is already out and now I've moved out she blames me for mum not being father Christmas anymore!!
I'm gutted.. for her.. and because so thought father Christmas would have still visited my mum's for me. Ha ha! Luckily I've applied my sister this year so maybe I can be santa tomorrow before dinner!

APositiveMind · 25/12/2018 00:32

Spoiled

FortyFacedFuckers · 25/12/2018 00:32

I am 33 and although Santa doesn’t leave me a letter he does leave me a stocking and presents at my parents house!

AuntieStella · 25/12/2018 00:33

Mine are awake, making festive molecules, with TOTP2 on in the background.

I want to go to bed, but it seems wrong, somehow, when they're still at large. The elves will be working their magic at about 6am

fleshmarketclose · 25/12/2018 00:34

Can I add that when they are 29 and 25 you would think that they wouldn't be getting up at the crack of dawn and want to descend on me at 7.30am? They both feel decidedly hard done by because I have said not before 9am Hmm

puddled2 · 25/12/2018 00:34

Your children are always your children no what their age , would be fab if they still believed !! Probably just taking the Mick !! But hey ho , enjoy whilst they are still at home , happy Christmas to you and yours x

DramaAlpaca · 25/12/2018 00:35

Don't be daft Bertrand Xmas Grin

Though my three, aged 25, 23 & 21, are already tucked up in bed so I was considering doing the Santa thing tonight.

But I've decided I'd rather have wine & nibbles right now so I'll do it in the morning.

titchy · 25/12/2018 00:37

Mine are similar ages and have just left a mince pie, carrot and glass of wine on the hearth Blush

BertrandRussell · 25/12/2018 00:38

I’m pretty sure they don’t believe! Grin But they watched the Mark Gatiss thing together with some Baileys, then loudly hung up their stockings and left beer, carrot and a mince pie out. So I have to play the game too! Grin

fleshmarket I said not before 9am too (to the young adults who don't get up before noon) - they were most miffed.... dh has set the alarm for 5am to fill stockings...

KeepServingTheFestiveSnogs · 25/12/2018 00:39

They never stop being your babies OP.

Happy Christmas!

Plumpciousness · 25/12/2018 00:42

festive molecules ??

Hazardswan · 25/12/2018 00:43

I think it's adorable!

BertrandRussell · 25/12/2018 00:44

Dp has just written the letter- including the sentence “As my friend, Mr A Einstein says , just because you don’t believe something doesn’t mean it’s not true”

Mine are 30, 28 and 27. Father Christmas still leaves stockings for whoever happens to be staying here on Christmas Eve night Grin

Kerberos · 25/12/2018 00:47

I'm over 40 and my mum still does me a stocking. Love it :)

fleshmarketclose · 25/12/2018 00:48

titchy when they were young they never got up before 8am Christmas morning! Last year they got here at 8am so tried putting my foot down and said 9am this year and they wondered what they were going to do whilst waiting to come here Grin I offered them to take their stockings home but apparently that would spoil things Hmm

Cherrymix · 25/12/2018 00:49

Guinea pigs have helped out simulating reindeer ... so just the mince pie for me Grin

merrybloominchristmas · 25/12/2018 00:50

mine are 15 and 18. Dh and i have just got back from midnight mass to find carrots, mince pie and a glass of baileys on the hearth next to their stockings!

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 25/12/2018 00:53

Ds is 19 and still believes in santa Xmas Grin he is severely autistic though with learning dis.

He's currently laid in bed wide awake hoping to catch santa while I hit the babycham and wait until whatever ungodly hour to put the presents under the tree and fill his stocking before collapsing with exhaustion.

Wouldn't change it for the worldXmas Smile

notangelinajolie · 25/12/2018 00:55

Three grown up DDs ... and I've just been to check and who'd have thought it - all presents under my tree this year are from Santa Smile It's magic you see.

notangelinajolie · 25/12/2018 00:57

I never actually had the chat with them...is that bad?
