Got a Christmas pudding and brandy cream but only DH likes it, not me or the kids. Time is running out, I’ve already been out shopping but I’m going again, inspiration please?

I forgot to buy ingredients for pudding for tomorrow. I've not really been with it this Xmas Xmas Blush but I've googled a recipe for sticky toffee pudding without the dates, I don't have any cream for the toffee sauce so will try and make it with milk, it'll be a Christmas bodge job. Just remembered I have condensed milk though, does anyone know if you can make toffee sauce with condensed milk?

Asda Extra Special salted caramel tart. Christmas pudding for DP and DS but I'm sure I'll be forced to share the tart too.

My mum is bringing a trifle, which my kids won't eat, so they've got microwave puddings - a choice of melting chocolate or sticky toffee. I've also bought a cranberry and orange tart, but might have that tonight.

We had a load of friends over for mince pies and mulled wine last night. I have a surfeit of mince pies (and mulled wine and Prosecco....), so hoping that mountain will reduce a little too.

Mojitomogul · 24/12/2018 13:38

Homemade key lime pie, nice and fresh after lots of food.

amusedbush · 24/12/2018 13:39

We’ve got sherry trifle.

FloatingthroughSpace · 24/12/2018 13:39

Christmas pud...we have 4 from various gifts and hampers! Plus home made trifle or profiteroles for the kids. There's a chocolate log in case of emergencies. Or stollen. Or mince pies 😂😂

Loveweekends10 · 24/12/2018 13:43

A range of choc fudge cakes plus panna cotta if we want something lighter. Also ice cream and cream if we fancy.

SilverDoe · 24/12/2018 13:43

Thanks for all the suggestions!!

Can’t believe I didn’t think of trifle!

All of your chocolate/brownie related suggestions really swayed me, despite loving sticky toffee pudding I just don’t have time to make something, but I got a moist got chocolate fudge pudding from m and s, some fancy cream and this thing called Red Velvet Curd which has a chocolate raspberry flavour, so it’s going to be a bit like a desser version of a Costa Black Forest got chocolate I guess? Xmas Confused

Does it sound alright?! Xmas Blush

Official pud is Christmas pud.

For those who don't like it, we have jelly, trifle, mini choc eclairs, mince pies and plenty of cream or squirt cream.

To be honest, they'll just eat sweets and chocs!

SilverDoe · 24/12/2018 13:44

Oh and I do have a back up Stollen loaf and lots of chocolate! I’m sure it will do, your desserts all sound amazing I’m so jealousXmas Grin

Profiterole stack from M&S for DH and I, brownies for DS. And I bought a Vienneta which we all like.

I normally make dessert but it’s just the three of us this year so can’t be bothered!

AllYeFaithful · 24/12/2018 13:51

Small Xmas pud for me & DH.
DCs have always wanted ‘ice cream factory’ ie. ice cream with loads of sauces, sprinkles, wafers etc to choose from.
This year DDhas dissented and wants crepes with Nutella, so I’m accommodating because I’m a very good person Grin.

Trifle is for Boxing Day here.

EatShitBoswell · 24/12/2018 13:53

@RustyBear oooh thank you!!! I'm going to make that this afternoon and keep it in the fridge till tomorrow!

OrdinarySnowflake · 24/12/2018 14:02

Nigella's spruced up vanilla cake - basically a vanilla sponge cake in a fancy tin. Just hoping I've oiled/floured the tin properly, as this is the only bit that can go wrong...

Kummerspeck · 24/12/2018 14:09

Sticky toffee pudding but cheat's version. I buy bought cake, can be date and walnut, ginger or golden syrup cake then slice and lay in a dish on a slant like bread and butter pudding. Pour over toffee sauce and warm in oven. So simple but looks and tastes good

LadySybilPussPolham · 24/12/2018 14:10

Pineapple upside down cake Grin
