A 'picture that I can play with' from 5yo DD. I have bought her a coloured sand craft box thingy with self-adhesive pictures. I hope it'll do the trick!

MooominMamma · 19/12/2018 21:21

My 9 yr old DS wants a potato!

NoShitHemlock · 19/12/2018 21:29

@MrSnowmansCarrotStickNose

"A satnav. He's 6, I don't know where he thinks he's going. "

I snorted my coffee at that one Xmas Grin

A box of Fox's biscuits and a ship in a bottle. Don't ask Confused Smile

"and a puddle." - wrap ice? Be a puddle by morning 😂

Dd is almost 18 now but I've been asked when she was little for

A snowman in the house
Coleslaw
Her own apple tree (we lived in a high rise at the time!)
Baby sibling that lives with us (I couldn't have more after her 😔)

"My son asked for broccoli when he was really little." One of my dn's is obsessed with broccoli - now gets a fresh head in stocking every year and loves it and they're in teens now!

I did once run with her request of "lots of paper to draw on that's just mine and not mummy's" cos she was a bugger for using my printer paper I needed for uni to draw on.

So I got her 3 reams of her own 2 white, one various colours, plus colouring pens, pencils etc - still says its best gift she's ever had Grin

I can remember asking for a tub of butter or 2 or 3! Not even real butter but 'I can't believe it's not butter'

No strange requests from my dc's yet, I think the youngest will be the one to do it.

jessstan2 · 19/12/2018 22:37

Oh bless, op, I do think that is sweet :-).

I remember mine at a similar age wanting a bowl of fruit for his birthday. I did a little one for him.

Wonder what he'd have thought if that was all he got?

When he was three he wanted a little ladder so he could reach the wash basin but he learned to stand on the square bin.

They are so gorgeous at that age.

notfunnyhaha85 · 19/12/2018 22:44

DD asked Santa for a hot tub three years running. This year she asked him for an iPhone 😞 (she's nearly 8).

DS is 2 and asked for a top hat like 'the showman' as he's obsessed with the greatest showman. Fingers crossed it gets delivered before Christmas!

MrSnowmansCarrotStickNose · 20/12/2018 11:51

@NoShitHemlock a fitbit has also been mentioned. Maybe he's going to do a lot of running and thinks he might get lost Hmm

ThursdayNextIsMyHero · 20/12/2018 11:58

One year, dc asked for a bone - he wanted to be a puppy. Father Christmas obliged with the present (a chew toy) - dc was happy!

ImogenTubbs · 20/12/2018 16:18

DD has trumped the earlier request by asking for some worms and a flytrap plant. She is 5 and recently learned about flytraps and thinks they are the coolest thing ever. The worms are a separate gift and not intended for the flytrap.

My sister who was 6 at the time asked for snails- she had just been to France and loved them! Santa brought them!

Numberonecook · 21/12/2018 09:49

My 8 year old asked for a real lion! God knows how our cat is going to feel about this Confused

LoudestRoar · 21/12/2018 12:00

Numberonecook I'd have to buy some Lion bars!

My 6 year old wants a cauldron, some logs matches and a chemistry kit... I'm not sure about this!!

He also wants his own Austrian smoked cheese ( orange wrapped sausage shaped thing) and a box of chocolates. I think those seem reasonable stocking fillers

Nquartz · 21/12/2018 13:57

A marshmallow machine last year. Wasn't sure what she meant but she explained it was a machine which makes marshmallows whenever she wanted them. Luckily she was happy with a big bag of them instead

bertielab · 21/12/2018 14:00

DC3 wants a sheep. I'm considering it.

Santaisonthesherry · 21/12/2018 14:13

Baaad idea bertie. The sellotape will get stuck in its fleece!

Jellyonawonkyplate · 21/12/2018 14:15

A stage Hmm

Any ideas very gratefully received!

Enko · 21/12/2018 14:18

years ago dd3 was adamant for Christmas stocking her stuffed rabbit wanted a golden carrot.

gold spray paint worked.

sar302 · 21/12/2018 14:48

Oh, so a treasure hunt! Easy clues around the house, leading him to the freezer.

LoudestRoar · 21/12/2018 15:04

jelly puppet theatre? Contact a local theatre and see if they do a behind the scenes tour?

bertielab · 21/12/2018 21:09

I'm now in discussion with a local rare breed breeder about a sheep.........sellotape could be messy!

RebelWitchFace · 21/12/2018 21:18

DD aged 2 asked for "toast, cheese and bananas". Basically she asked for breakfast!!
