I haven’t cried in 9 years, feel like a good cry would be beneficial but I can’t. I know that I have some emotional issues but I was wondering when was the last time you cried?

Today had a few tears roll down my cheeks reading the thread about sad movie scenes - Twas Terms Of Endearment

Charley50 · 16/12/2018 21:22

Cried just now watching Brooklyn in a sad bit.

Littlebird88 · 16/12/2018 21:23

15 mins ago. I was watching a docu about the Lockerbie disaster
so so sad.

Notatallobvious · 16/12/2018 21:29

Today. Friend of a friend died, aged only 46. I cried mainly for her two DC.

sunshineandthunder · 16/12/2018 21:30

Yesterday. I cried reading about Lockerbie and about all of the new information emerging on the 30 year anniversary.

It's very close to where I live and I remember it happening vividly. I was a wee girl of 11years old.

I cried as I read how the wonderful residents of Lockerbie lovingly washed and ironed the victims clothes so that they could be returned to the bereaved families in their battered suitcases. I cried at the thought of the farmer wrapping up the body of the small child he found dead and placed him in the front seat of his land rover, making sure to place the seatbelt over him. And I cried at so much more.

An utter, utter tragedy. I saw the documentary too and the people interviewed still look haunted by what befell the town that night.

DontCallMeCharlotte · 16/12/2018 21:38

Back in the summer when my sister died.

Mrsoh39 · 16/12/2018 21:41

2 weeks ago today as we had to put our much loved dog to sleep, he's very sadly missed.

HereBirdies · 16/12/2018 22:00

Yesterday. DH bought me a new coat which cost (for us) a huge amount of money. I just felt terribly guilty and a little bit shocked at spending that on a coat for me. My last coat (from Tesco) has lasted 5 years. Genuinely sobbed in the car on the way home.

DogMamma · 16/12/2018 22:05

@Mrsoh39 I am so sorry list my girl in July still cry

Mrsoh39 · 16/12/2018 22:17

@DogMamma thank you, I have cried since but not the sobbing like a baby when my husband came home after, it was for the best, I'm sorry for your loss too xx

BitOfFun · 16/12/2018 22:27

This afternoon, thinking that DP might die of septicaemia (he's got a toothache 🙄).

I cry at the stupidest things. I didn't cry at all when I ound out I had Stage 4 breast cancer though- I just asked the doctor if it was still worth me getting new double-glazing.

CakeNinja · 16/12/2018 22:28

Not for over a year I think, at the funeral of a child at my school.
Life is generally good for me and my loved ones though, and I find crying absolutely exhausting and all consuming. In tough times, I put my practical head on and park up the heavy emotional stuff to deal with “at a later date”. One day I’m sure it will all unleash at once!!

elQuintoConyo · 16/12/2018 22:32

This afternoon, reading about Lockerbie. It feels like just yesterday.

Mymadworld · 16/12/2018 22:32

Me too @feska5 he's amazing. Have you seen the documentary on iplayer 'Driven' - totally awe inspiring and a great one to watch with whiny ungrateful teens

FVFrog · 16/12/2018 22:32

All day today on and off. 4 months since my DH left our 24 year marriage. I am exhausted holding it together and my DS has his 17th birthday on Thursday, that and the whole Christmas preparation thing and not being a family together for the first time is just overwhelming 🙁

meow1989 · 16/12/2018 22:34

Nearly today after visiting my nan's old house. Before that at her funeral in July.

Northernknickers · 16/12/2018 22:35

Today...twice! Not full on sobbing, but real tears of sadness. First time was when writing a Christmas card to my mum that didn't have 'dad' on it (my dad died recently). Second time watching some crappy Christmas movie where 'mum' dies at the end! I also cried three times last week...I teach Year 1 and we did 3 nativity performances...can't help myself 🤷‍♀️

I simply can't imagine not being able to cry...that must take some effort!

WhoKnewBeefStew · 16/12/2018 22:36

I cry all the time. Drives me batty! I had a blunt this afternoon watching the greatest showman. I can cry at flipping guide dog adverts.

weebarra · 16/12/2018 22:37

On Thursday at the Lockerbie documentary. Full on snotty sobbing.

Teacherlikemisstrunchball · 16/12/2018 22:42

I last properly cried after something horrible happened at work a few weeks ago and I was distraught. Since then I’ve cried a few tears when the little KS1 cuties at school sang nicely in the nativity etc.

TamiTayorismyparentingguru · 16/12/2018 22:45

About 2 hours ago - been holding it back all day and to be honest was planning on holding it in until tomorrow when DH is at work and DC all at school, and then allowing myself a good weep. Looks like at least one of the DC will be home sick tomorrow so gave in and had a little sob with DH tonight.

Like some other PPs - I cry almost every day. I wish I didn’t but life has been so, so hard for the last few years and to be honest there doesn’t seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel and I’m tired. I hold it together with the DC and when out with other people but life continues to be truly crap and I need to let it out and own that.

BikeRunSki · 16/12/2018 22:48

This afternoon, when I heard that the friend of a friend’s baby had died.

This evening watching SPOTY, because the person I used to text-chat with through it died earlier this year.

This evening when Geraint Thomas won SPOTY.

Not big heart wrenching sobs. Those were last at the funeral of the person I used to text-chat about SPOTY.

Novasglow · 16/12/2018 22:58

I'm not a crier. When things get too much it spills out if I'm angry, which pisses me off. However I've just cried because I was upset by something tonight and out of the blue the guy I'm seeing has decided to come round just to give me a hug. So surprised he cares so much! Pushed me over the edge 😂

BadlyAgedMemes · 16/12/2018 23:11

I cried today, because I was watching a kids' show on Amazon Prime, and the "mean" father came to get her daughter and said she was his daughter, and everyone cried and everything was okay again...

I don't usually cry about anything in my life. But I did cry some weeks ago in therapy. It was snotty and embarrassing.

Peachydream · 16/12/2018 23:11

Friday full on sobs thinking about a close relative who has passed away thinking I will never ever see them or speak to them ever again. No card or gift to buy, and wondering if I should delete them from my WhatsApp.

Earlier today we were watching a clip of a couple being reunited at the airport after 3 months apart. It was just so genuine & heartfelt.
