I haven’t cried in 9 years, feel like a good cry would be beneficial but I can’t. I know that I have some emotional issues but I was wondering when was the last time you cried?

Friday night. For no real reason... it's the week before my period and I always have one day that I cry Confused

tinytemper66 · 16/12/2018 20:39

Today

PinguDance · 16/12/2018 20:39

I also thing crying can be a stress reaction, which some people are more prone to than others -so the last time I properly cried, as in actual tears and hiccups and catching breath, rather than had a tear or two, was at work, which was very embarrassing and made worse by the fact people kept coming up to try and comfort me! And that was stress rather than being upset exactly.

Twice today already and verging in tears now. I’m hiding in my bedroom listening to my 16 year old punch walls. I’m crying most days at the moment.

Today. We've converted all our home movies from childhood for our parents for Christmas as a surprise. I did a quick flick through to check all ok and was laughing until my grandparents were suddenly on screen. They're both gone nearly twenty years and I've some nice photos of them but to hear their voices and see them move stopped me in my tracks and I was in floods.

About 30 minutes ago. Fed up and feeling down. Probably period related and also the time of year bringing home just how empty and sad my life is. Plans for this weekend all got cancelled and I am sick of the same thing day in day out.

Friday at the unveiling of the Pankhurst statue in Manchester, when the choir sang “Nana was a Suffragette”. Gets me every time I hear it.

allyourcats · 16/12/2018 20:45

Today. DH was a shithead. I really don't know what do do anymore. I used to go a long time between crying but early this year had a big bereavement and lots of marital stress and the tears just keep coming.

cantfindname · 16/12/2018 20:45

Right now and reading MN to try to calm down.

LastInTheQueue · 16/12/2018 20:45

Twice yesterday and I am NOT a crier, so it was a bit of a shock.
The first was a negative cry, but the second was when I was telling my lovely new boyfriend about it and he was so lovely and caring about it that it made me cry all over again.

oser · 16/12/2018 20:47

A few hours ago. I rarely ever cry (maybe once every 3/4 months) but that's the 4th time this week! Shock

bookworm14 · 16/12/2018 20:48

This evening, listening to the choir sing O Holy Night at my local church’s carol service.

GinIsIn · 16/12/2018 20:49

Most days at the moment. We lost my dad at Christmas so I find this time of year really hard, and I have a non-sleeping toddler who has launched himself full on at the terrible twos.

Shockers · 16/12/2018 20:50

About 10 minutes ago. I miss my mum- she died in October.

emwithme · 16/12/2018 20:54

About 90 seconds ago. DD is 18 days old and in the middle of a growth spurt so has been cluster feeding since about midday yesterday. In that time I've had about 5 hours where she hasn't been attached to a boob.

I'm getting really good at eating one handed!

Pinkgin50 · 16/12/2018 21:01

I don't cry very often , the last time was on Friday, at work. I was feeling rubbish with menopause symptoms and it's making me anxious and emotional. I just want it to be over .

BillyAndTheSillies · 16/12/2018 21:01

This afternoon watching Polar Express but that was a few rolling tears.
The last time I had a proper sobbing moment was at our neighbours funeral in October. She was relatively young and it happened suddenly. She was one of the nicest people I've ever met and was so loved.

Ohyesiam · 16/12/2018 21:03

Three weeks ago tomorrow. Full on ugly sobbing, my partner was very lovely.
Since then I welled up a bit thinking
about a brave thing someone did.

BarnamintBaileys · 16/12/2018 21:07

I can’t remember the last time I cried, it must be 5/6 years ago, at least. I sometimes wonder if there’s something wrong with me because I don’t cry at sad TV programmes or films that everyone else seems to cry at but that’s just how I’ve always been.

feska5 · 16/12/2018 21:12

Just now watching 19 year old racing car driver Billy Monger nick name Billy the Whizz on on Sports personality of the year. He was critically injured when he was involved in a collision at Donnington Park. Both his legs were amputated he was just 17 years old. Wonderful young man. So brave. He spoke so well. I cried.

BurtTyrannosaurusMacklin · 16/12/2018 21:15

It will be in about 5 minutes if my kid doesn't go to bloody sleep. Been up here for an hour and a half.

MrsSchadenfreude · 16/12/2018 21:17

I’ve been working overseas away from DH and the DC for the past six months. I realised yesterday that I hadn’t cried for a week, so some progress!

darkriver198868 · 16/12/2018 21:18

Friday. I had a tough therapy session and felt very much on edge. Which typically means I unravel quite quick.

CollyWombles · 16/12/2018 21:19

Tonight when watching Bridget Jones baby, after she gave birth. Pregnancy hormones in my defence.

itsboiledeggsagain · 16/12/2018 21:20

Couple of weeks ago. Was out at drinks after work with my lovely colleagues. It was my late brothers birthday so I told them he had died. They were very kind
