I'm going to treat you all to my unpopular Christmas opinion.

You CAN send Christmas cards AND donate money to charity. Anyone who says they're not sending cards so they can donate the money to charity is just a Scrooge.

Siblings in matching Christmas jumpers- just no.

People only make Christmas pudding to set it on fire. I've never met anyone who actually enjoys eating it.

Who the hell is the Christmas fairy? Surely that thing on the top of the tree is an angel.

I do not like any of the blue lights - look like emergency services rather than Crimbo.

payperview · 23/12/2018 09:45

(Hides blue lights)

It's like Donkey says "Christmas isn't Christmas till somebody cries"

As long as it's not me!

People who turn up with multiple presents for your children that you weren't expecting on 23rd Dec, with no prior warning so you can maybe buy their children stuff too, are lovely but also make my anxiety and feelings of failure and overwhelm go through the fucking roof ShockConfusedBlush

thisisjustdaft · 23/12/2018 16:28

I buy charity cards.

(and get DH to write them Grin )

ladybirdsaredotty · 23/12/2018 16:47

Ooh CurlyHairedAssassin YES, I could have written all of that nods Smile

ladybirdsaredotty · 23/12/2018 16:48

Ugh I don't know how to present actions when MN converts it to bold Xmas Blush

ladybirdsaredotty · 23/12/2018 17:01

Noeuf only just read your post, so sorry about your son Flowers

MrsBobDylan · 23/12/2018 17:58

I don't like Christmas. The food, the presents, the whole thing really.

Ragwort · 24/12/2018 09:45

I love Christmas pudding, so do my parents, served with lots of home made brandy butter Grin. I’ve even bought two puddings this year as after carefully researching all the reviews on line couldn’t decide between the final two - Tesco Finest & Heston Hidden Orange (which I think is vintage from a previous year but still in date!).

payperview · 24/12/2018 13:00

Christmas miracles don't exist. If they did, I'd be getting an apology from a certain someone.

Ragwort me too, I love Christmas pudding. We get the Sainsbury luxury one laced with Cognac, the biggest size available. And at least two, one would never be enough. I’ll be stocking up after Christmas for next year.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 24/12/2018 20:56

Christmas cake, pudding and mince pies are all gross.

ToEarlyForDecorations · 26/12/2018 00:02

ZenNudist · 26/12/2018 00:12

I hate Christmas cards. Why when you see someone do you need to send cards at all. If you dont see someone (yes that means you random friends of my dps and ils) why does just sending a card which you have written "to zen and family ... love random and randomer xx" what does that do apart from remind me you're alive.

delboysskinandblister · 26/12/2018 00:18

I volunteer and send cards. I don't like blue christmas lights they are distracting and look cold.

None of us like bread sauce or bother making pigs in blankets.
Buy a decent butcher turkey and you don't need the filler crap.
We like Christmas pudding but never eat it until Boxing Day as we're still stuffed from Christmas meal.

GrandmaSteglitszch · 26/12/2018 00:20

Trekking miles & miles to visit assorted relatives is a silly idea.

Amazonian27 · 26/12/2018 00:22

I hate the elf on a shelf, Christmas boxes and the never ending face book posts tree, table, how many presents have my children got from Santa, how popular am I for socialising so much over Christmas bragging posts.

SusieQ5604 · 26/12/2018 03:06

I did BOTH. I love sending cards, writing a note and including a photo.
