Please can the earth swallow me up - Christmas party

So so so embarrassing, I’m actually at the office Christmas party and managed to be last in to be seated and there wasn’t a seat or anyone to sit with and I know I should be brave and insist some random strangers make room for me but instead I’m hiding outside in the bar not getting a Christmas meal and trying not to cry #introvert

It was either really really good or really really bad. I reckon the op will suddenly remember this thread in a couple of weeks and update us then.

She’s probably still there. At some point there will have been an interval and people will have left the dining area to go to the bar.

At that point the OP realises if she is spotted someone will know she’s been sat there for ages. So, she rushes off to the toilet to hide in there and wait for an opportune moment to appear.

But then after locking herself in a cubicle she finds that with all the comings and goings she can’t actually leave. And then when she overhears a colleague talking about her in the ladies and wondering why she never showed up, she now knows she’s going to have to stay hidden until the whole thing is over and everyone has gone home then try to sneak out without being spotted.

Then she got locked in, her phone died and she’s still waiting to be rescued.
