She didn't actually say what she thought of the dress! So not very useful.

Also that your legs looked not great > also not useful.

But then I stopped asking my mum what she thought of pretty much anything when I was about 14 as she was incapable of saying anything nice :D

Is your mum like that? If she's usually nice I'd just say well sure but do you like the dress?
If she's usually not nice then stop asking for her opinion about things is my advice.
