Just saw on the news that the European Court of Jystice gas ruked we don't need permission from the other EU members to withdraw from Brexit.

Good, I hope we can get a proper vote on the deal now.

Maybe it's the case (and God knows there's ample evidence for believing this) that the citizens of this country are simply too stupid and passive for the UK to survive as a global power in the 21st century. Maybe we belong at the bottom of the world rankings.
Personally I'm taking steps to enable my DCs to emigrate when they reach adulthood. They're too young to vote, and shouldn't be stuck trying to pick up the pieces of what you lot have done to the country. You can look after yourselves in old age - don't expect the young to do so, and the EU workers who have done so till now are leaving in droves.

citiesofbismuth · 10/12/2018 15:14

It's in their best interests to play for time and make a mess of it all, then back out at the last minute citing the impossibility of reaching a workable deal. They'll just be treading water now.

I said the day after the election that it wouldn't happen and we wouldn't be leaving.

Coggle · 10/12/2018 15:16

That would be great, cities, but it could also go the other way (disastrous no deal).

abbsisspartacus · 10/12/2018 15:18

As tempted as I was to vote leave I voted remain as I thought the government was not prepared for brexit at all

I hate when I'm right if they had a plan an idea something fucking anything! But we have been kicked from Galileo the whole EU is pissed at us and parliament is still arguing like a bunch of children sturgen has her big spoon out wanting an independent Scotland she will do everything she can to press that point no matter the cost dup are out for themselves I could go on but I need stronger meds

Thatsalovelycuppatea · 10/12/2018 15:22

I'm very worried about the whole thing. In my view, I think people perhaps weren't understanding the full consequences the first time voting.

surferjet · 10/12/2018 15:28

It can yes.
But it won’t.
Can you imagine the uproar from the 16 million leave voters if brexit is cancelled?
Brexit will go ahead. Just not sure what type of Brexit we’re getting.

MrsGollach · 10/12/2018 15:32

I work with some stupid girls who voted stay because they like going to Europe on holiday without having a visa!

Sashkin · 10/12/2018 15:47

MrsGollach and I have a patient who voted leave because “it’s time we fought to get our empire back”.

I know who I think is the most stupid out of those two, and it isn’t the person who supports FOM.

KennDodd · 10/12/2018 15:53

Unfortunately at this point we have no good options.

This mess is all the fault of the people who voted Leave, after all, they claim they knew exactly what they voted for and carefully considered all the consequences that would come from a Leave vote. Well this is it, this mess belongs to you, you have cost the country billions and billions, turned us into an international laughing stock and given enormous boost to the racist far right. Own the mess you've created.

CougarSquad · 10/12/2018 15:57

I am confident we will have a soft Brexit voted through parliament at some point.

The Irish are entitled to be very angry at the trouble the British are causing them, especially considering the historical behaviour of the British towards the Irish.

Hoppinggreen · 10/12/2018 16:03

I often think to myself.
No Hopping, all Leave Voters can’t possibly be complete idiots who have no idea what they were voting for. surely there some well informed intelligent people who did their research and voted Leave for solid rational reasons that you can respect even if you don’t agree . They can’t all be “I’m alright Jack” Little Englanders who listened to the lies spewed by the rich elite who won’t be affected and may even be better off under Brexit while poor people get poorer.
