I can't believe it's December & we STILL haven't had a frost yet!

This has got to be the warmest December ever. Not once have I seen a frost yet. The odd misty morning but that's it. I live in a major city in the south. How is it for everyone else?

We've had 2-3 frosts on the NW coast. It's definitely been quite mild for the time of year, however. I've also seen shoots on trees / my raspberry canes and loads of my spring bulbs are also up already on the allotment.

We suffer from wind chill here more than anything though. It's bloody windy round these parts on a regular basis!

PomPomCushions · 09/12/2018 20:13

Bloody freezing in Central Scotland and I went on my arse this week on the ice Angry

dangerinthemanger · 09/12/2018 20:17

2 so far in Somerset

Doilooklikeatourist · 09/12/2018 20:18

Wales here , we’ve had a few car scrapers , a lot of rain , and we too have daffs poking through

I can't believe it's December & we STILL haven't had a frost yet!
Philomensapie · 09/12/2018 20:19

It'll happen in February.

hippoherostandinghere · 09/12/2018 20:21

NI here. Once, maybe twice I've had to defrost the car. Wait for it though, jan/feb will probably be a disaster.

shesaysgoes · 09/12/2018 20:23

I'm in Hertfordshire and we had a hard frost at beginning of November. I recall this because we always worm the horses for tapeworm after the first hard frost Smile

dogzdinner · 09/12/2018 20:23

For the first time ever I cut my grass in December (last weekend). Only a very long cut, just to tidy up some tutfy bits.

LBOCS2 · 09/12/2018 20:23

I'm in south London/Surrey borders - I've had two mornings where I've had to de-ice the car and I came home from a late meeting c. 3 weeks ago and it was snowing - lightly, didn't settle, but definitely snow.

AnotherPidgey · 09/12/2018 20:29

A couple of frosts here in the Midlands and some days with chilly east winds. Snow in the north of the county, but they're a lore unto themselves up there.

I remember about 3 years ago it was constantly 13oC and drizzly... it was exactly the same the following May!

ChocolateTearDrops · 09/12/2018 20:29

We've had frosty mornings - East Midlands.

Idlikeabunchofbananasplease · 09/12/2018 20:32

Cold burst is supposed to be on the way. I live in Shropshire and had to light the fire and scrape the car. Lucky you if it's mild where you are I'm sure the cold snap comming will kill off some of the bugs

Athena51 · 09/12/2018 20:33

A couple of hard frosts but overall damp and mild which is disappointing. I love cold, sunny frosty weather. I'm in the south west.

UatuTheWatcher · 09/12/2018 20:36

I’m in Cornwall. We’ve had a few mornings where we’ve had to scrape the frost of the car but looking back at my posts on FB from last year it definitely is warmer overall here.

Donthugmeimscared · 09/12/2018 20:37

I've had to scrape the car a few times and I'm in the south east.

Gilead · 09/12/2018 20:41

North East, had a few frosts and a bit of snow last month. Was frosty here early last week, then warmed up!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 09/12/2018 20:41

I saw snow drops out already in London this weekend.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 09/12/2018 20:43

Also it kept snowing till April here this year.

Whisky2014 · 09/12/2018 20:45

NE Scotland
We have had our heating on for 2 months! And have had very cold and icy mornings.

poppy196 · 09/12/2018 20:50

Where are you op ?
South west here and had to scrape ice off at least 5 times .
Mind you we leave for work at 6.45 so maybe thawed when your up .

liguana · 09/12/2018 20:56

I don't want to reveal where I am Grin but I'm astonished at the daffodils. I love a daff. I can't imagine living in Scotland as the temperature difference is vast. We lost all of our Box hedging this year to caterpillars and I bet it's worse next year if we don't have a decent cold snap.

I'll have you know I'm an earlybird & I'm up a 6am every day! If it was frosty I'd know. Besides, my bedroom has velux windows & you can't see out of them in a frost.

ShowOfHands · 09/12/2018 21:43

I'm in Norfolk and have had to scrape the car several times. The doors were frozen shut a few days ago. I've been wearing thermals, layers and my thickest coat.

MeetOnTheSIedge · 09/12/2018 21:55

We've had a few (semi-rural South). On the whole its been damp and mild though, I've hardly needed a coat in daytime so far, only at night. The heating is not kicking in in the evenings at the moment, only the mornings.

tryinganewname · 09/12/2018 22:04

Definitely had frosts in Yorkshire!! Made even worse by coming home from Florida in November.. what a silly idea that was Envy
