Mine is quite lame but, I don’t like heights and had to attend one of those work get to know you days at it was at Centre parcs and I had to jump off of various far too high woodland obstacles.

I loved it! I’m old and can’t believe I left it so late to fling myself off high obstacles.

I now want to do a parachute jump. 30 year old me would never do it Grin

RaspberryRipple1963 · 07/12/2018 18:06

Went away on a little holiday by myself,a few weeks ago. I wanted to see a couple of tribute bands for my favourite group, but they were playing in a town about 150 miles away from where I live. I plucked up the courage to book a hotel for 3 nights, bought the gig tickets and coach journey tickets, and went all by myself. I never thought that I would have had the courage to do it. But I did,and I'm so glad that I did. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, and am planning to do it again in the spring next year.

KismetHardie · 07/12/2018 18:07

@LucyMorningStar you were very young, and as you say you were groomed. There's power in recognising that you did make choices there and you are very different now, but you can also forgive yourself

Went paintballing. Not my sort of thing AT ALL but a friend got Groupon Fever and bought tickets and dragged me a long in the freezing cold and ankle-deep mud and I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life!

Well done @DailyMailDontStealMyThread, I'm scared of heights too and last year jumped out of a plane. I was 51 at the time so there's lots of time for you to build up the courage.

Separated from my husband after 38 years together. It took me 4 years to pluck up the courage.

Started travelling alone and on my travels I’ve faced my fear of ......

heights by going on the worlds tallest zip wire.

Faced my fear of sea snakes by jumping off a boat 4kms out in the ocean to swim with whale sharks. I’ll never forget it.

Went on scary rollercoasters.

Have developed a love of camping in the desert and by the sea with my children and grandchildren after trying it once years ago and hating it. It just clicked with me about 3 years ago and I now want to go every few weeks during our winter.

I’ve also discovered I’m quite a good desert driver and instead of hanging on to the Jesus bar In terror I now hang on to the steering wheel and enjoy every minute. Next year I’m planning on joining a group of women I’ve never met before to do an all female desert crossing lasting a few days.

I’ve really surprised myself of late.
