I ordered a curry late last night. The leftovers have been sealed in itheir containers (not the rice or extras, just two curries) all day in our kitchen, and I’ve just said ‘put them in the fridge, I’ll have one for lunch.’

He has refused and wants to throw it away.

Am I wrong?

(It looks delicious Blush)

Absolutely edible. Fancy a curry now you have said that.

Stephisaur · 04/12/2018 23:18

As long as the kitchen hasn’t been particularly warm today and you heat it thoroughly for lunch, I’d probably eat it.

I wouldn’t have leftovers in the first place though 😂

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 04/12/2018 23:18

So it's been sat in the kitchen for 24 hours? Yuck. No way.

cariadlet · 04/12/2018 23:22

Am I wrong?

Absolutely. You should have had it for breakfast. Smile

empmalswa · 04/12/2018 23:22

Sat in the kitchen for 24 hours and now you want to put it in the fridge to eat TOMORROW Envy

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 04/12/2018 23:22

Stephisaur - we wouldn’t usually but I was hungry when I ordered 😂

Itslikerain - can you tell me why? What if I don’t eat the meat but just eat the sauce? (Wishful thinking!)

I would and have, without even reheating it.

I love cold leftovers.

HeddaGarbled · 04/12/2018 23:25

I wouldn’t eat any meat that had been unrefridgerated for 24 hours. How odd that you didn’t put it in the fridge last night, or this morning, or at any other point during the day but you want to put it in the fridge after 24 hours.

RLOU30 · 04/12/2018 23:26

Leaving poltry in room temperature for more than 2 hours and bacteria starts to grow rapidly. I wouldn’t Envy

JennyHolzersGhost · 04/12/2018 23:28

I would have refrigerated it last night I’m afraid. Sorry.

PerpendicularVincent · 04/12/2018 23:28

If it's got meat it in and you eat it, you'll be shitting through the eye of a needle for days.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 04/12/2018 23:34

I would’ve put it in last night but I forgot Blush then I was working all day..

Damn. As I have a work event tomorrow night looks like I won’t be enjoying a curry sandwich for lunch!

I always eat cold curry for breakfast the next day. But my kitchen is colder than the fridge...

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 04/12/2018 23:38

Heat it up properly and it'll be fine, better even.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 04/12/2018 23:40

My kitchen is pretty cold... we’re in a waiting for extension 1930’s which requires socks in summer! Maybe there’s curry hope 😉

Not 24 hours out of a fridge

Tony2 · 04/12/2018 23:47

Ignore the handwringers, it'll be fine. And rice, seems to create the most hyperventilating fear. Gazillions of people eat left over rice every day without problems.

Molakai · 04/12/2018 23:48

GrimDamnFanjo

I always eat cold curry for breakfast the next day.

Nothing unusual there. But OP wants to eat it for lunch tomorrow. That's more than 24 hours on top of " next morning breakfast"

BruegelTheEIder · 04/12/2018 23:58

I would eat it.

bangbingbong · 05/12/2018 00:00

I've done this, ordered a curry the next day was too hungover to eat it but ate it the next day.
Still here to tell the tale. Fancy a curry now though.

nocoolnamesleft · 05/12/2018 00:01

I would have eaten it if it had been refrigerated. It hasn't.

rededucator · 05/12/2018 00:03

It will be completely fine! I once left a half eaten restaurant burger in the box and the next night mentioned it to the chef and he said it'd be fine to eat. Cooked meat doesn't spoil the same way raw meet does

NoTeaNoShadeNoPinkLemonade · 05/12/2018 00:04

Op just heat it and Eat it!!!
All those spices are bound to have preserved the meat somehow Confused
Sure most of them contain antibiotic properties too.
I do it all the time and never get sick. (only ever curry though, nothing else)

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2018 00:04

Out of the fridge for 24 hours? I'm quite lax about use by dates & that sort of thing, but even I wouldn't risk that. Shame, as curry is always nicest next day, leftover rice & all.

cheesemongery · 05/12/2018 00:06

I would.
