feeling a bit blue and so I reach for Gavin and Stacey. It always fulfils a need. I also comfort watch Downton and Outlander.

The BBC adaptation of North & South, it’s on Netflix so I can indulge when I’m feeling particularly crappy.

And the 90s film Eat Drink Man Woman. It’s all about families and food.

RainbowSpice · 27/11/2018 22:17

Grey's Anatomy or Friends 💗

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 27/11/2018 22:18

The usual suspects, Friends, Gavin and Stacey, Only Fools and the old Birds of a Feather I also find a good British cosy murder very comforting, Poirot, Miss Marple, Midsomer Muders, Agatha Raisin, love the warmth of the Devon or Cotswolds villages they are set in and they serve the duel purpose of satisfying my property porn fetish, they all live in beautiful cottages, win win!

The Good Life - it makes me nostalgic for when I watched it as a child and my DF was so like Paul Eddington.
Kath and Kim - you have got to love the foxy morons!

BrokeLuce · 27/11/2018 22:26

Fraiser and The Thick Of It.

CassandraCross · 27/11/2018 22:27

Classics:

Pride & Prejudice is first choice followed by North and South, Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility

Comedy:

Only Fools in particular the Blow Up Dolls episode and the one where they Found their Fortune, the one when Rodney got engaged and married I always find really touching.

Blackadder The Fourth

Gavin and Stacey

Vicar of Dibley

The Good Life - I so want to be Margot when I grow up.

Also can't beat a Midsomer Murders for lazy afternoon viewing.

Lots of other go to films that are just used for cheering me up/mindless watching.

crumpet · 27/11/2018 22:28

Many of the above, plus Jam & Jerusalem - an extremely underrated treasure.
