Work toilets have a 'V.I.POO' in each one?

New workplace. We have three levels. One floor has a toilet each (male and female).

The ladies have V.I.Poo sprays. As far as I know, the men do not Grin according to someone I work with, when I made a light hearted joke about the toilets having the sprays in. He said there wasn't one for the men.

Would the strike you as odd? Somewhat lighthearted.

There's a little printed sign that says "Before you have a poo, spray this in the loo. It stops unpleasant smells, so we don't all think this is hell!"

Nona Well the only loo she would use would presumably be the loo on her floor... So no need to provide for all three floors

Anyone who holds their poo in all day to save pooing in a public toilet is an idiot. I do adhere to poop etiquette (always poo in the toilet furthest from the door) but it's a natural function, when you gotta go, you gotta go!

Titsywoo · 24/11/2018 22:03

Good idea! I carry one in my bag just in case - sometimes it's very necessary! Noone wants to smell another persons shit.

NonaGrey · 24/11/2018 22:06

Stop unless they move about between the floors or have a bowel condition which means they can’t hold on and need to seek out an alternative if their floor’s loo is in use.

A female colleague clearly can’t go into the male loos.

NonaGrey · 24/11/2018 22:07

Alternatively it could be theee different women all supplying it for their own floor.

OliviaBenson · 24/11/2018 22:10

I worry about how bad this could be in the environment. It's just poo, why should we be ashamed of it!

arranfan · 24/11/2018 22:23

I worry about how bad this could be in the environment.

It depends what it's relative to, perhaps? Relative to heavy use of an aggressive air-freshener than a few modest drops/sprays of Vi Poo or similar might be less damaging.

Widespread addition of additional oil would contribute to the FOG/fatberg problem of sewer systems but usage in this capacity is substantially less of an issue than careless disposal of cooking oil by food businesses.

FourFoxCakes · 24/11/2018 22:23

Aesop Post-Poo drops are way better.

Maybe someone has had an iffy tummy and didn’t want to impose?

Aridane · 24/11/2018 22:24

What's the betting a female employee took it upon themselves to supply the spray and signs?

Yes!

Aridane · 24/11/2018 22:25

What is VIPOO ?

IAmBeyonceAlways · 24/11/2018 22:25

StopTheSundayBlues of course I dont need it Grin but you know...these guys who hang around.. Smile

WorraLiberty · 24/11/2018 22:27

What's the betting a female employee took it upon themselves to supply the spray and signs?

Yeah because most men don't give a shit Grin

waxy1 · 24/11/2018 22:28

Not going when you should makes you smell of shit.

ILoveTreesInAutumn · 24/11/2018 22:30

My friend has IBS, I know she would be interested in this. Is it pretty leak proof in your handbag and would it be ok in en-suite (repeated use) or does it leave an oily film? I’d happily buy her some if it works as she gets SO embarrassed.

PeanuttyButter · 24/11/2018 22:35

I poo at work and I’m not ashamed of it. Yes my shit stinks as does everyone else’s. If I have some spray with me I will spray (never tried vipoo) but it’s not the end of the world if I don’t. As for training your bowels.. this is possible but I’m happy that I get to poo at work (and be paid for it Grin) it’s one less thing to worry about later. Plus I go straight the gym from work. Toilet talk is constant at our place, it’s not taboo so there’s no embarrassment. I have really bad IBS as do some of the other staff.. sometimes it feels like a competition of who’s IBS is worse today lol

arranfan · 24/11/2018 22:36

The spray is leak-proof. I use my own mix in small plastic dropper bottles but, if people use a commercial one, it depends on you being very careful not to cross thread when closing the bottle.

You don't spray/drop that much as it only takes a tiny amount to create a suppressive film and that is flushed away.

dementedma · 24/11/2018 22:40

why wouldnt you poo in work loos? that's what they are for surely?
i quite happily use ours. it's a toilet....

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 24/11/2018 22:46

I'm not surprised I was in the loo at work last week and someone walked in and announced in a loud voice "it stinks in here!". Heaven forbid you use a toilet for its primary function! The horror!

BakedBeans47 · 24/11/2018 22:50

I can’t poo at work. Unless I had diarrhoea maybe but I can’t seem to release the beast otherwise. I have tried! Maybe I should buy this.

It’s not just the smell though its the plop noise too

StopTheSundayBlues · 24/11/2018 22:52

Baked Nobody would hear you at my work because the loo is just one loo per sex

OP posts:
babysharkah · 24/11/2018 22:53

I work with women who think it's appropriate to shit in the back of the toilet set and leave it there.

This is a professional firm ffs.

I'd be delighted if they'd use the bowl and flush ever kind VIPoo.

BakedBeans47 · 24/11/2018 22:55

Ah that would be ok. I hate the cubicles where the door doesn’t go all the way to the ceiling/floor.

The worst thing is sitting there having a wee and the smell of someone else’s poo escaping into your cubicle, yuk

Bobbiepin · 24/11/2018 22:56

@bakedbeans47 put toilet paper down first, hides the plop noise.

SerendipityFelix · 24/11/2018 22:57

I do adhere to poop etiquette (always poo in the toilet furthest from the door)

Is this a thing? I didn’t know this! I always tend to choose the first cubicle in public loos as I read somewhere that statistically it’s cleaner/less likely to run out of paper as most people will walk past it.

Bobbywashere · 24/11/2018 22:59

Ffs I paid my way through uni working as a cleaner...you would think men were on a dirty protest half the time! I was a cleaner for six years...I worked both men and women's toilets and the men's were a million times worse!

I think there is a zealous woman who is possibly somewhat old fashioned and doesn't want to convey the message that women pee and poo the way men do/ so she has taken it upon herself to provide air fresheners!!

If only someone would do the same for the stinking gents!!!
