What's today's minor drama in your house? DD opened a new pack of days of the week socks ...

and there were TWO MONDAYS. Oh the drama and outrage.

I like the minor upsets, it takes my mind off the bigger things (like DS being suspended from school for the fourth time this term).

Bin night.

DS BRING YOUR BIN DOWN

DF TAKE ALL BIND TO KERB

It happens every week. How are they not ducking used to it yet. Every weds it's a huge shock.

bakingdemon · 21/11/2018 22:37

@Timeforabiscuit where does one find niffler soft toys? A member of my family (very much not four years old) is obsessed

OlennasWimple · 21/11/2018 22:40

I bought the Wrong Tin of cat food, and it's all we have in the cupboard now.

The reproachful look I got from the cat as they realised that they were going to have to eat it anyway was enough to make me understand the error of my ways

crispsahoy · 21/11/2018 22:42

I can't find Santa!!!

BathTangle · 21/11/2018 22:44

@bakingdemon I saw them in Waterstones at the weekend.

Jent13c · 21/11/2018 22:45

I used the sentence "stop kissing bus stops" today.

Also I wouldn't let him carry his ride on car up the stairs. Also I wouldnt let him play with the gas hobs. Also I wouldnt give him out of date milk and he didn't want the in date milk.

RosieAndJimDoTheOldRagDoll · 21/11/2018 22:48

Ds 17 months didn't want a bath...

...then didn't want to get out of the bath, after 1.5 hrs of being in the bath he didn't want.

But this mornings mini drama was because he couldn't sit in the 7" cake tin. (He thinks he's part cat. If I fits, I sits)

Littlechocola · 21/11/2018 22:52

Dh needs a poo, ds1 is in the bathroom. Ds2 and I WERE sleeping!

megletthesecond · 21/11/2018 22:58

12yr old DS couldn't find two white sport socks for his PE kit tomorrow.
When I suggested he put away all the clean laundry in the room to find a sock he stomped off upstairs shouting about how UNFAIR I was. I "KNOW NOTHING FAM" apparently 🙄.

LMW1990 · 22/11/2018 08:46

They couldn't put the Christmas tree up at 10 to 8 this morning (we leave the house at 8!)

DP had eaten DSS toast when he wasn't looking. DSS demanded another slice which I quickly made (whilst putting on coats, shoes, getting bags etc.). He then got in the car and declared he'd had enough toast (it's still sitting on top of the toaster)

LegoandiPads · 22/11/2018 08:58

DS1 lost it last night because having had to redo his English home work three times to get it right he then had NO TIME FOR ANYTHING ELSE before bed.

Apparently the fact that he had also spent 1.5 hours at his favourite club was completely irrelevant.

Arrowfanatic · 22/11/2018 11:50

DS7 didn't want to so his SPAG homework on the computer as there was too much (4 pieces because he had refused to do any over the last few weeks) and then threw a strop when I told him he had finished all his spag work finally and to come off the laptop and have dinner as he wanted to do more.

DD6 as I told her to go wash her face as she said she had washed her face but she clearly hadn't washed her face as she still had jam all round her mouth from the jam toast she had just eaten.

MalcolmsBrokenWalrusMoneybox · 22/11/2018 11:57

Dd(6) put on a performance for me, then sobbed her heart out and told me that I never did anything nice for her because I hadn't given her a thank you card for said performance.

Figmentofimagination · 22/11/2018 12:10

DS 18m wants to stand up, but doesn't want to stand up. Wants picking up but wants to be on the floor. Wants his balls but then throws them in a huff as he doesn't want them. Rinse and repeat.
I'm so glad it's nap time atm and I can get some peace and quiet.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 22/11/2018 14:47

It's still all about the socks here, in case you were wondering. "There is no Wednesday. What is that word, I don't know what it means?" Hmm

I offered DS a choice of oven chips, home-made wedges or hash browns. He wanted me to pay £15 to get chippy chips delivered from our local (crap) chip shop. Apparently I had promised Hmm . Tears, drama, door-slamming, and then flung himself down on the sofa without looking and sat on his headphones, which broke. More tears, more drama. He's nearly twelve!

lucysmam · 22/11/2018 16:47

Four of dd2's packed lunch yogurts had split in the delivery crates...I didn't see the yogurt on some of the other shopping & covered my hand in it

Tesco man laughed when I realised, then refunded me the money.

maggienolia · 22/11/2018 17:17

I did my online Tesco order.
They have run out of oranges and broccoli.
I then gave blood and got tea and cheese Tuc biscuits. Which were very nice.

LucyMorningStar · 23/11/2018 12:23

@MamTDM what kind of chips cost £15??? Shock

Grauniad · 23/11/2018 12:34

DH grumbled about work for 15 minutes straight, then complained that I never listen to him because I'd just said 'My feet are wet. Oh god, I think it's cat piss.'

Apparently he hadn't finished and I was deliberately changing the subject.

AviatorShades · 23/11/2018 12:54

Oh dear! Sad
I looked after a neighbour's DS2 at mine yesterday while she took DS1 to the drs. for something. DS2 is 6, DS1 is 8.

DS2 became really upset cos he said that his mum loved his brother better than him, he just knows it because she CHOSE to have him first Shock

ChocolateTearDrops · 23/11/2018 13:14

Aw poor boy. I'll bet it's what his older brother said to him. Best response to that is "first time was a trial run then she got it right" Grin

BoooForYou · 23/11/2018 13:19

DS (10) full on hissy fit because he hid his shoes to try and get out of school (it's PE today. He hates PE) and I found them.
I am a terrible, terrible mother apparently.
Sympathise with the lost forever Nifler toy. DD is 11 and at secondary but woebetide if she can't find her bear anywhere. It's always hidden under what used to resemble carpet.

AdamNichol · 23/11/2018 13:24

DS (7) was playing Wii. Went to the bathroom. Now can't find Wii remote. This is my fault* and I care nothing about him.

*irrespective of the fact I was cooking dinner in the kitchen the whole time and have been nowhere near living room, bathroom (where Wii remote was found), nor Wiil remote.

gingernutrichtea · 23/11/2018 13:28

I'm in the middle of moving house and my bank card was used fraudently. Spent the whole morning trying to sort that and the movers and packing. I had a Gnt very very early
