..... and what is the thought process (if any) behind it?

Friday afternoon 3-4pm usually as I do most cooking at weekend and ingredients are fresh. Used to be Friday evening but now DD is big enough (2.2) to help put it all away, so I do it while she is awake which has the bonus of freeing up Friday evening

Sunday normally between 2-3pm

It means the meat or fish etc for Sunday dinner is fresh and everything for packed lunches like bread and sandwiches meat is only a day old for Monday.

For those of you who buy on Different days, how do you manage at the start of the week? do you do a top up shop at the weekend?

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 19/11/2018 11:29

I should say though I do get fresh rolls from the bakery on a Tuesday (only day I'm near) which I freeze for Saturday lunch.

HappyGoodHairBear · 19/11/2018 11:29

That reminds me, I need to update before tomorrow!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 19/11/2018 11:30

Saturday mornings between 9 and 10. DH and I work full.time. We spend Saturday morning doing housework etc. All done and dusted by Saturday lunch time and then the weekend begins.

BillThePony · 19/11/2018 11:31

6-7 Monday evening as I am home from work by then and means we have stuff in for the week.

GerrysSuccessor · 19/11/2018 11:35

I order on Friday afternoons when DS is asleep but before the school run. Usually do click and collect, 10-11 slot on a Saturday morning. DH picks it up on the way back from swimming.

I find if I don’t do this I am all over the place, running out of things, going off meal plan, getting takeaways, etc. My routine keeps me on track!

OnNaturesCourse · 19/11/2018 11:38

Start of the week between 9pm & 11pm.

One of us is always still pottering about, and sets us up for the rest of the week without eating into precious family time at the weekend.

I am a Tesco Delivery Saver customer. I pay £3 a month and can have unlimited deliveries as long as the basket is over £40, but only Tues-Thurs anytime.

I am off during the week and this works perfectly for me. I get it Weds or Thurs pm so we've got food for the weekend and usually a few bits go in the freezer so I can cook with them the following week.
So cheap. Really happy with the service, pretty reliable and any substitutions are better products for no more money.

Catfacecats · 19/11/2018 11:43

Usually a Tuesday as we have the delivery saver deal from Tesco!

Felford · 19/11/2018 11:52

Whenever I remember to order it.. but ideally Sunday mornings. We have the any time delivery saver from Tesco so doesn't matter about trying to find cheap slots.

MsSquiz · 19/11/2018 14:46

I do 2 Tesco online shops each week - we have the deliver saver for £8 per month.

Generally the deliveries are for Monday lunchtime and Wednesday afternoon. I work from home so can be quite flexible with the deliveries and doing 2 shops a week means veg doesn't start to go soft/brown before the end of the week

Cuzcothellama · 19/11/2018 17:24

Usually a weekday morning as I'm around in the day. Preferably one of the days that the DC are at school, so I can put it away in peace and eat some of the nice biscuits without sharing.

Vitalogy · 19/11/2018 17:29

Ocado free delivery on Wednesday (minimum spend £75, I shop fortnightly). Evening time in one of their green delivery slots.
