Up Early Sunday? What are you doing today?

In the midst of a too busy weekend here.
Just about to have a second coffee.
OH about to drive 200 miles for work, will be back at 3pm.
He has been working now 14 days without a day off.
I will be working too- but that's not so bad, I work from home and can keep half an eye on things while I work.
DD is home from University this weekend, but is also working, she starts at 8am, it's local so I will drop her off and go to Tesco early, may buy some food and put some beef in the slow cooker for later.
Then have to take my mother to church for 10 am.

So not much fun today.

What are you doing?

Had a dinner party last night so we need to clear up the mess this morning! Then season a pork joint for this evening, walk the dog with DS2, chivvy DS1 to pack his sports kit for Monday, and read our way through the Sunday papers over a late breakfast. DH works 6 days a week so he gets to decide what we do in the afternoon but probably a kickabout with the kids. Lazy and chilled.

TheRealHousewifeofCheshire · 18/11/2018 08:02

Lying in bed with baby and toddler and fiance. Its cramped. My lower back acjes would love a coffee. Thinking I might not do the usual rush to church at 9am. I go on my own with kids as fiance works every sunday. Its stressful.kids party later. Just the chaos of the morning to get through

I've not been asleep yet. Was up late chatting to my housemate (we're at uni) and then had drunken idiots ringing our doorbell, faffing around in the garden (they turned on the outside tap which then ran for hours because I didn't notice till I went into the kitchen and heard the noise) I have previously called the police over these people but by the time I went to they'd gone.

By this point it was after five and I'm on kids group at church this morning at 11 so I figured it wasn't worth it when I have somewhere to be in a couple of hours. I'm hoping I can grab some sleep after the service before my friend's concert starts because I promised I'd go watch them in that at 6 tonight I think is when it is.

I've just prepped a veggie and bean stew (basic and to be portioned and added to things like chilli or pasta sauce later) and put it on in my slow cooker. Going to take out a portion tonight and add some beef and have a nice and warming beef stew before I have to brave the cold again.

No problem huggybear i hope it works for you. Smile

Gosh reading everyone else's with babies and toddlers reminded me of what it was like just a few years ago. My sons are now 5 and 7 and we can read the papers over brunch again and have a lie in while they play lego or playmobil together for hours. When they were babies and toddlers our lives were chaos and no one ever seemed to sleep!! It gets better!

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 18/11/2018 08:11

DS and I are up after a bit of a lie in, DH is still in bed being lazy and avoiding us as he stayed up late doing coursework.
I think we're going to head to a local American diner for breakfast and then into the city to do a bit of shopping. We'll pick up a little food shop on the way back and pop in to see my dad and then home to relax for the evening I think. Fingers crossed DS complies with our plans.

JudasPrudy · 18/11/2018 08:17

Watching CBeebies with DS. Will go back to bed soon then off to visit family later.

DoveSecret · 18/11/2018 08:53

Im on my way to a football match with DD. 2 hour drive each way.

WishfulSprouts · 18/11/2018 08:57

Dh in bed ill. I’m sorting out kids going out shortly for a couple hours with grandparents so I can do some uni work, clean house do ironing etc. Then kids party this afternoon. Then usual Sunday prep to get ready for another week.

Me and DD are going to go a local garden centre before it gets manic busy to go look at the Xmas displays. Then boring stuff. Food shop needs doing, two loads of laundry need doing then I need to help DD with her school project.

I've been up since 7:30. So far, I've drunk a cup of tea and am just drinking a coffee.

Dd2 joined me for breakfast at 8am ish. Dd1 is just crashing about making hers now (only toast but the amount of cupboard door banging/cutlery drawer slamming suggests otherwise)!

I don't think we're doing much today. Dd2 has reading to do but did her homework yesterday. Dd1's friend spent the day here yesterday & I'm half expecting him to do the same today tbh.

I'm considering deep cleaning the kitchen...maybe. Or getting out everything from under dd1's bed that they've not touched for the past year & sorting through it.

Or just a lazy day; iron uniforms, do a couple of wash loads, bake and cook a roast.

Not sure yet.

naicepineapple · 18/11/2018 09:27

Was up half the night with an upset stomach then had to go to hospital for an MRI scan at 8 this morning so I'm shattered.
We'll take our toddler out somewhere fun this afternoon.

speakout · 18/11/2018 09:27

So far so good.

Dropped DD off at work, in Tesco by 8.15am, bought all the food for today.
Now having a cuppa and a bacon sandwich before starting work.

Not much today, had a busy day yesterday with 4 yr old, I always try and cram as much as possible in at the weekend as work full time.

We are currently lying in bed together, he's watching a CBeebies panties.

Then it'll probably be a day of playing cars and maybe the park.

Bluesheep8 · 18/11/2018 11:40

Congratulations @jq28!

Hope everyone had a good Sunday. We have.

DH ended up rescuing a little munkjack deer and we got lots of little bits done. DD was glued to her new Lego set etc. Just time for gravy now!
