Up Early Sunday? What are you doing today?

In the midst of a too busy weekend here.
Just about to have a second coffee.
OH about to drive 200 miles for work, will be back at 3pm.
He has been working now 14 days without a day off.
I will be working too- but that's not so bad, I work from home and can keep half an eye on things while I work.
DD is home from University this weekend, but is also working, she starts at 8am, it's local so I will drop her off and go to Tesco early, may buy some food and put some beef in the slow cooker for later.
Then have to take my mother to church for 10 am.

So not much fun today.

What are you doing?

I'm going to church for 8.30.
Then I have some ironing to do, quick general tidy up, then DH is getting all the Christmas decs down from the loft so I cn sort through them. I've changed my colour theme for the tree this year.
Can't wait!!

GertrudeCB · 18/11/2018 07:18

Been upsince 6:40 courtesy of the dog, who is now snoozing at my feet.
Driving to the beech as soon as it's light to let aforementioned dog have a run, then home to finish bottoming the house as I've got tomorrow off work so my dp's are going to visit. Also going to do some Xmas prep.

Jackshouse · 18/11/2018 07:19

Woken up by a hysterical toddler at 6. She is still squirming around her bed and does not want to get up. I’m hungover and could do with the sleep or at least a cup of tea but I’m getting lots of cuddles from her.

I’m thinking today we need to sort out Christmas plans and sort out christmas present shopping.

Fadingmemory · 18/11/2018 07:20

Off into the hills for a long walk

GrumpyOldMare · 18/11/2018 07:23

Working.
It's a little chilly outside!

speakout · 18/11/2018 07:23

Still dark here, I can just see a faint glow from the sunrise.

Also a heavy frost, will need to scrape the car.
I will pop into Tesco at 8am after dropping off DD.
Slow cooked beef with dumplings for dinner tonight.

huggybear · 18/11/2018 07:24

I've been up since about 4.30 with really awful cramping, nothing is helping. Trying to take my mind off of it on here!

GertrudeCB · 18/11/2018 07:28

Frosty here in Lancashire too- I love a cold crisp morning Smile

Sickenedbyguilt · 18/11/2018 07:32

I’ve just been wrapping and hanging banners as it’s ds’s 3rd birthday. I’m the only one up both kids and Dp are still asleep. We’re going to Blackpool for the day hoping it stays dry

BabyMoonPie · 18/11/2018 07:33

Toddler DD has just woken up so I'm going to get her up, dressed and breakfasted. When DH is up I'll go for a run. After breakfast we're going to a Christmas fair but as I'm watching what I'm eating that might not be fun! I know it's trashy TV but I'll be watching the new series of I'm a celebrity tonight!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 18/11/2018 07:37

Hope all the early awakers/bad sleepers due to illness feel better soon.

We will be going out for fresh air at a venue still to be determined. It will involve hot chocolate and cake and hopefully less of the soul destroying whinging that accompanied yesterday.

jq28 · 18/11/2018 07:40

Iv literally just found out I'm pregnant no I'm desperate to get my hand on a clear blue weeks indicator! Got to wait till 10am for the bloody shops to
Open!

PepperSteaks · 18/11/2018 07:44

Watching peppa pig in bed with a cup of tea. Then bath with the baby. Supermarket to get the weekly shop and stuff for a roast. Then I need to walk my mum’s dog which I know I’ll keep putting off as it’s so cold!

ListenLinda · 18/11/2018 07:45

Recovering from yesterday, it was our beautiful nieces first birthday party. DH was working so it was my job to be up and down monitoring our active 18 month old while pregnant with a bad back 🤣

Today is a cleaning and sorting day before we go to my sisters for Sunday dinner. Haven’t had a roast for ages so i’m looking forward to it!

PepperSteaks · 18/11/2018 07:46

@JQ28 congratulations! Let us know how far along when you find out please :-)

wejammin · 18/11/2018 07:48

Just feeding 3 week old DS2, DH was up at 6 with DS1 and DD so I think I got the better deal! They've made croissants and tea so I'm partaking.

DCs will watch some TV whilst we try and get through Mount Washmore, them we're going to the allotment to burn some brambles and plant bulbs, then swimming lessons, then home for tea. Assuming DS2 is compliant!

HelenaJustina · 18/11/2018 07:49

Up at 6.30am with a new puppy! Trying to get everyone ready for 9am Mass and then family round for lunch. Took an apple pie out of the freezer yesterday so feeling ahead of the game... busy day.

HelenaJustina · 18/11/2018 07:50

Got school uniform ironing to fit in too!

Newkitchenideas1 · 18/11/2018 07:50

Huggybear - my mum suffered really badly with cramping and was recommended to drink tonic water every day (a small can) since she started drinking it her cramps have stopped.
Dp woke everyone up when he went to the gym (although he will deny this) so early morning for us, we plan on visiting the local shops and then swimming with the kids later.
Not sure about dinner yet, am wondering if i can pursuade dp to go for a carvery!

dancemom · 18/11/2018 07:51

Dd is off to a dance competition, thankfully I don't have to go!

So I'm Mumsnetting till 8am then I will get up and get ready for the gym.

Post gym I'm going to have a lazy lounging day.

guineapig1 · 18/11/2018 07:52

Ah, congratulations jq28 :-)

DS also decided sleep was unnecessary, then demanded to get brought to our room and has been a duvet-hogging starfish since 2am whilst DH and I clung on each side of the bed.

Tea in bed now before breakfast then DH and I will draw straws over the options of mini football (short straw) or walking the dogs (more preferable option).

Made some soup yesterday for today’s lunch so will have something more substantial this evening. We usually do a 5pm Sunday roast but I half fancy a homemade curry today.

Rubyslippers7780 · 18/11/2018 07:52

Watching Frozen for the 3rd time. DC up at 5:10.... think they are trying to kill me...

MelanieCheeks · 18/11/2018 07:56

Watched the sunrise with my first cuppa, now back in bed with the second. Will be getting up soon, avocado smoothie for breakfast, then volunteering at junior Parkrun. Pick up some blue cheese to make broccoli soup for lunch, doing a cross country run this afternoon. Sort out clothes to wear this week. Faffing about in front of the wardrobe takes too much time each morning, so I like to plan the week's outfits in advance,

huggybear · 18/11/2018 07:58

Thank you @newkitchensidea1 that's really interesting. I really love tonic so will give that a go.

lljkk · 18/11/2018 08:02

May be asking you guys for medical advice, actually.

DS bashed his finger 6 days ago (lifted the nail bed). Thought it was getting better but now it seems to be getting more painful. Is obviously swollen. Could he have broken it & we missed it? Soaks in antiseptics like TCP don't seem to be clearing the apparent infection. So may be visiting the walk-in pharmacy for advice this morning. Sigh

Swim at noon, I hope. Decluttering & tidying to do, too.
