Do you think you have a hard life or an easy life?

Just curious really. Do you think others would agree with you or disagree?

I enjoy my life. Others always say "I don't know how you cope." etc, but I think it's perfectly ok. Likewise, some friends who I think have an easy life, seem to struggle and those who I think have it tough sometimes cope amazingly. I get I don't know everything about people's lives, MH issues, SEN issues, etc

Not a judgy thread. Just, I guess, a philosophical discussion. I have down days and get really fed up sometimes but others life is really good.

I'll share my family set up later Smile

Mix

Very supportive family,Found teens hard, struggled socially. Found uni easier. Moved to a new country when I graduated and still live here.

Met dh at 21, struggled with suicidal depression at times over the years and only blessed with ds.

Financially stable and career ok.

Mix. I agree outlook helps

Somewhere on between, but in the great scheme of things probably easier than most (I'm thinking of those in war torn and developing countries).

Both. Some amazing highs and plenty of lows. Thankful for what I have now - a lovely family and some good friends. Crap job, well boss, though!

My answer would vary day to day. Really depends on which mood I wake up in. Sometimes I'm really positive and others I struggle. Then I remember people including friends are a lot worse off than me( I don't mean in financial terms) and then feel grateful for my life and guilty for feeling bad about it.

I think I have a really easy life now. It hasn't always been that way but now we are settled, living well within our means. I have a good job I enjoy, stressful enough to be interesting but not overwhelming, very short commute, teenagers who sometime present challenges but (fingers crossed) really very good kids, supportive parents still in good health.

And yet, some days it's still all too much. I do often find myself wondering how people with more complicated lives even get through a day.

It's a mix.

In some ways it's easy - my parents are around and help a lot and we get on well, my kids are generally well behaved and pleasant people, my part time job is engaging and reasonably well paid and in general allows for a good work life balance, I have some good friends and love in my life.

But I've been through an unwanted (by me) separation & divorce from my 1st husband which was very hard and continues to impact on my life due to the children and I've lived through my second husband's cancer diagnosis, treatment and death and the impact on my life and future.

An easy life at the moment-own a lovely house in a good area, career I love, supportive & kind partner. No money worries and lots of fun and travel. As others say, you never know what's round the corner though, so I take nothing for granted.
