DD up vomiting with what seems to be a delightful winter bug.

Anyone else around? Smile

Me too, not long been sick too (reaction to antibiotics) and worrying over silly things ... hope your poor DD recovers quickly Flowers

SageYourResoluteOracle · 12/11/2018 01:00

Me. I can't sleep even though I'm knackered. I keep getting pins and needles in my arms and legs and it's worrying me. I know I need to see the GP. I'm stressed and run-down and barely coping with my workload. Was supposed to be driving into the office tomorrow but too tired to do the hour's drive- sometimes longer- so will take the train instead. Just can't seem to quieten my mind and never get any proper rest.

Hope your DD is okay. It's horrid when they're poorly!

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:00

Hi @andyouloveme

Sorry you're not well Sad Hope you've got someone to help you?

Yes, awake like a lark busy dumping my boyfriend (for no reason) lol, but I'm just being me. Some day I'll find one who can withstand being dumped. Why do I do this?

Xiaoxiong · 12/11/2018 01:03

The DCs and I all have streaming colds so they've ended up in bed with me and DH in their room! They're both asleep now and starfishing and so warm that I'm worried they have fevers.

AlrightBabby · 12/11/2018 01:03

I'm up, but I normally am at this time, I have a shite sleeping pattern

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:04

Oh @SageYourResoluteOracle that sounds really difficult. A drive like that can be really tired, particularly if you're feeling anxious. Definitely see the GP when you can, I went on a doc recommended NHS stress course recently, and even though I was really sceptical. It actually helped a lot. Thanks

DD got a cold and going to bed has brought on a coughing fit :( she's asthmatic and I'm terrified it will turn in to an attack. I've tried everything. Vicks, humidifier, cough medicine, inhaler. Last resort has just been giving her some milk and putting an extra pillow under her matress to prop her up a bit. Can't sleep till she's settled and I'm shattered :(

TashieWoo · 12/11/2018 01:05

Me, I have a deadline for work tomorrow so I’ve been working on that. Finished for now but I can’t switch off... also have a few work, relationship and money worries.

Flowers to those who are poorly and/or have poorly children

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:06

Well @Semifeatured if it doesn't feel right, then it's for a reason, and probably for the best! Hope you're ok though Thanks

OP posts:
Semifeatured · 12/11/2018 01:06

But yes, I've done my time with little ones vomiting and the cleaning up and frantic phonecalls to consult on whether you should ring a doctor lol

Xiaoxiong · 12/11/2018 01:07

Semi dumping for no reason at all?

Jumped DS1 is asthmatic too, I know the feeling! I did the blue puffer with the spacer about an hour ago and he is thankfully no longer wheezing - hope yours settles soon.

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:07

@Xiaoxiong oh dear - yes this was us a few weeks ago! Colds are rotten! Thanks Hope you get some sleep soon.

OP posts:
Semifeatured · 12/11/2018 01:08

I'm sure as usual, that it's me being neurotic rather than it not being right, but I've come to accept myself haha

Xiaoxiong · 12/11/2018 01:08

Semi sorry didn't finish the sentence! Meant to say I'm sure there is a reason, if it's not working for you that's reason enough!

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:08

@AlrightBabby hope you manage some sleep soon. Are you up early? Or will you get a lie in?

OP posts:
MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:09

@JumpedOverTheMoon I'd be exactly the same, I just cannot settle into sleep unless DD is asleep. Hope it clears up soon Thanks

OP posts:
Semifeatured · 12/11/2018 01:10

Hope you get some sleep, because you do know they are going to wake up again! It's horrible when they're unwell.

MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:12

@TashieWoo It's so hard to switch off from working late isn't it? I'm now regretting not having done a bit of work this afternoon as the pessimist inside of me says I'll be getting this bug next and it'll put me behind on my contract. Sad

OP posts:
MrsMyreton · 12/11/2018 01:13

@Semifeatured it's the smeellll. It will just not go. Blush

JumpedOverTheMoon · 12/11/2018 01:14

Xia thanks I did two puffs then waited about half an hour and did 3 puffs (I wasn't sure if she got one properly). She seems to have settled now after milk. She has silent attacks so can be easily missed (even 111 told me it wasn't an attack once) and I sleep like the dead so don't wake up if she is disturbed in the night which worries me a bit.
Has your little one settled?

AlrightBabby · 12/11/2018 01:17

@MrsMyreton, I'll probably sleep at about 3ish, and wake up about 9ish, that's how I've been for a while now. The nights I go to bed early because I have to get up at 6 for work, I sometimes don't sleep at all. I didn't get to sleep until 8 in the morning the other night Sad

I blame the menopause Angry

Shriek · 12/11/2018 01:18

Jumpedoverthemoon I know that dread of impending hospital visit!
Yes to sitting up, absolutely no to milk (mucus forming)
Warm tea, especially peppermint
Increasing preventer at first signs of cold
Then keeping on top of any tightening with 2/4 puffs of reliever, record how many, when and outcome.
Our hospital has stopped doing nebs!!?! We go to another now. They left one of one a whole week with prolonged exacerbated asthma.
Good luck for wellness to all suffering with winter bugs tonight

Shriek · 12/11/2018 01:21

When you say silent asthma do you mean not coughing?

Xiaoxiong · 12/11/2018 01:25

Yeah they've both settled now and DS1 has stopped coughing finally. I am wide awake of course listening to them breathe and too hot with them on either side!

We went through ages of DS1's asthma being really bad at night until we realised our puffer technique was wrong 😳 no one had ever shown me what to do so I was merrily putting three puffs in the chamber and making him take 10 breaths. Didn't realise it was one puff...10 breaths...30 second gap...one puff...10 breaths and when we changed that it made a huge improvement and now his asthma only comes back around cats, dust, or when he has a cold.
