Why are you up?

I was up at 5 am with my 11month old. He woke up and was crawling about giggling. I gave up trying to get him back to sleep before he woke his brother.
So we’re downstairs eating baguette and selectionof cheeses while watching Jamie Oliver.
Ooh and googling ‘can babies eat Stilton and goat cheese,’ because he’s a big fan but it only just occurred to me to check it’s okay.

8 yo DD is full of cold so came into my bed at 4.30am. Tried to get back to sleep but she wasn't having it. DDog is most confused as to why we were all downstairs at 5am.

It's gonna be a loooong day.

Isadora2007 · 10/11/2018 05:50

I’ve got a sleeping grandbaby on me so his mummy can have a few hours of sleep. 💕

Flamingoose · 10/11/2018 05:51

Because I'm on the other side of the planet and it's Saturday evening here.

In a weird way I really miss those early mornings when my kids were babies and toddlers. I would be knackered but loved snuggling and watching CBeebies!

Loving that your little one is a fan is stinky cheese!!!

I’ve been up since 1:30am. Upset because the buyer for our house has pulled out, so chain will collapse; and worrying about a work issue.

LivLemler · 10/11/2018 05:52

Moved 7 month old DD to her own room last night after weeks of waking every hour or two.

She's been asleep since 8pm, with just one quick settle at 9. It's a miracle.

I'm awake because my body doesn't know how to sleep any more it seems.

But I don't care! She slept through! She slept through!!! ShockShockShock

Isthereeveranexcuse · 10/11/2018 05:53

Worry about some family stuff serious stuff and I don’t think relationships can be repaired. I think it’s all irretrievably broken down and I have to walk away for my own mental health and well being. And that makes me sad

LivLemler · 10/11/2018 05:53

Oh Moving, that sucks. Hope you find another buyer soon. Flowers

ThrownMuse · 10/11/2018 05:55

DS (8) has always been an early bird, and has never slept past 5/5.30am in his life.

Luckily I'm the same but it was a killer when he was younger (and we had 2 years of 4am wake ups!).

TeddyIsaHe · 10/11/2018 05:56

Dd insists that 4am is the proper and good time to wake up. So we’re eating porridge and watching Hey Duggee whilst I google ‘how to make toddler sleep longer’ constantly and knowing it won’t help a jot!

Sorry to everyone having a rough morning

ThrownMuse · 10/11/2018 05:56

Flowers for those with worries on their mind.

Nquartz · 10/11/2018 05:57

DD sneezed at 4.25 which woke me (not her though!) & i couldn't get back to sleep. I'm a dreadful sleeper so this isn't unusual unfortunately

MovingtoLondonAgain · 10/11/2018 05:57

Thanks LivLemlar x

LoadsaBlusher · 10/11/2018 05:58

Up at 4.55 for the toilet then baby stirred as I tiptoed back through so had to resettle baby
Now lying in the dark on my phone praying that the other two DC won’t wake up from the noise of the baby

Girlfrommars11 · 10/11/2018 06:02

Got up at 5am for the toilet, can't get back to sleep because of dh snot snoring so watching America vandel.

Isthereeveranexcuse · 10/11/2018 06:03

This has made me smile . Not at all suitable for work or small ears.

LMW1990 · 10/11/2018 06:03

DSS 3 up all night with a persistent cough absolutely refusing to take medicine even though it eases the coughing. DP snoring in the small gaps between DSS coughing. DSS and DSD alternating between their own beds and ours. I'm furthest from the door so it's like 'there were three in the bed' and I've got about a mm of room. It's like Chinese water torture in Piccadilly Circus. I've come downstairs for a cup of tea and a slice of sanity.

I wrote the above on another thread about 2 hours ago. I couldn't bear to go back up for round 2 of musical beds. So I'm catching up on soaps on the lowest volume possible. Just been for a wee and everyone is fast on in their own beds (I guarantee that would not be the case if I was up there) and DP is snoring like a warthog starfish style.

I actually feel pretty awake despite the lack of sleep but I think I'll wain this afternoon, and we're supposed to be going out to watch the boxing tonight...

pombal · 10/11/2018 06:05

Swimming training for my tween, has to be in the water by 7:30. Competition in 2 weeks.

UAEMum · 10/11/2018 06:05

Ive been awake since 3am UK time cos we are 4 hours ahead.

Lolimax · 10/11/2018 06:05

Up at 5 for work. But it’s only a half shift so home by 2 Smile

Dandybelle · 10/11/2018 06:07

I'm very pregnant and uncomfy and have godawful toothache after a filling yesterday. DP works nights so I'm watching Suicide Squad with a brew until DD wakes up. Been awake since 4! My body clock is all kinds of messed up.

PlsTryAnother · 10/11/2018 06:08

Alarm went off at 4.20 to make sure DP got up for work. I normally go back to sleep but after a huge row with him I'm not really feeling it. DS will be up soon now. The joys.

preggersteach · 10/11/2018 06:12

Up feeding 16 week old baby. He woke at 3 as well so not so bad but dh was wide awake after he woke then and chatted to me until 5, really wishing he hadnt now (He is currently sound asleep!). Just hoping ds goes back down after this feed!

Northumberlandlass · 10/11/2018 06:13

DS (15) is rowing today & needs to be at Durham for 8am, so leaving here at 7am - up to sort his food & see him off. Also to make him a hearty brekkie!

I’ve had a long week & desperate for sleep, but i’ll be climbing back into bed once he goes.

GreenMeerkat · 10/11/2018 06:13

Feeding DS who will be 3weeks old on Monday

SelinaMyers · 10/11/2018 06:13

Newborn has a snotty snitch. After a night of her refusing her basket she’s in with me so I can’t go to sleep but she seems calmer.
