Do you have "go to" music to cheer yourself up if having a bad day/mood

Crap day and I'm listening to Nick Cave and it really feels oddly reassuring.

Sometimes in a bad mood the Smiths very loud is great.

I've been trying to think of some more cheerful stuff!

I can’t stay grumpy while listening to Vampire Weekend’s Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa, Jake Bugg’s Something as simple as this, Deacon Blue’s Ship called dignity or Aretha Franklin and Annie Lennox belting out Sisters are doing it for themselves.

MeganChips · 09/11/2018 19:49

This! I have been known to play it on repeat until I’m feeling better. DD has adopted it too.

One of my favourite Debbie Harry songs below ....hopefully. I don't know how to include a video clip.

Faithless - insomnia

KisstheTeapot14 · 09/11/2018 22:16

A long time ago I liked 90's acid house. Now what did that morph into? I find mainstream dance music now a tad anodyne. Perhaps I am looking in the wrong places. Any good suggestions from old ravers welcome here for an update :)

KisstheTeapot14 · 09/11/2018 22:21

Before that it was 'Everything is Awesome' from The Lego Movie. That got me through some dark days.

'Just want to dance the night away' by the Mavericks is my go-to tune. Collected that gem after dropping DH off to go to the 2nd Iraq War (army) as I drove away not knowing what would happen. Fucking hil Collins was not the tune to have on the radio on that journey, but channel hopping reaped good rewards.

I really do have happy and odd tunes as anthems for the shit times in my life.

And it's a long way up when you hit the ground
Get up now, get up, get up now.
