Do you eat in the bath?

DH says it's weird but I'm really enjoying my greggs custard slice while soaking in my hot bubble bath Grin

My brothers Saturday night treat is to sit in the bath watching a film and eating a bucket of chicken Grin

I did wonder into the shower with a packet of biscuits once. But I was pregnant and my brain wasn’t working.

April2020mom · 06/11/2018 17:57

No I don’t have bathtub snacks as I tend to get distracted by things easily.

Seafoodeatit · 06/11/2018 18:13

Nope, I have read in there a few times but really being as clumsy as I am it's always tempting fate and I have dropped a book in before so I don't take anything in the bath I don't want submerged.

Lweji · 06/11/2018 18:15

I can't have the bath water very hot, so it doesn't stay warm enough for very long.

What's the point of the bath, then? Seriously. If I couldn't stay there at least 30 min, I'd rather just have a shower.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/11/2018 18:18

DS1 (13) was so chuffed a few months back that he had made me a bacon sandwich, he thrust it round the shower curtain at me where I had no choice but to stand and eat it Grin
His hand just appeared through the steam, I instinctively grabbed the food and that was that!

BestestBrownies · 06/11/2018 18:53

You've all been brainwashed! I blame this

dreamyflower · 06/11/2018 18:58

I didn't realise this was a thing. The toilet is in my bathroom so wouldn't even think to eat in there. I do have a glass of wine sometimes though so I guess food isn't too different. I love a candle, music and a glass of wine with a bath bomb. Perfection. Pregnant at the moment but this will be happening again soon.

HoustonBess · 06/11/2018 19:57

I don't think you should eat in a room with a toilet in it.

ForalltheSaints · 06/11/2018 20:00

A Greggs custard slice? No way.

CathKidneyston · 06/11/2018 20:03

No but only because I’ve never mastered the art of leaning back and resting my head like you see on TV. I always feel overstretched and slip down. Any tips?

mumof2sarah · 06/11/2018 20:07

I usually have some form of treat either crisps or chocolate, even biscuits. A lovely ice cold glass of vimto, hot bath, candles and a book. It's my happy place lol x

Loyaultemelie · 06/11/2018 20:11

Chocolate! Wine or gin (I'm not fussy Blush) Kobo and chocolate. Crisps, cheese and even chocolate peanuts are also good

FlowerPotMum · 06/11/2018 20:12

I've got a ( moveable) wooden shelf thing that lies across the bath. Its got a kindle sized slot, a wine holder and a little slot for my phone. It's also got room for a bowl of snacks.
It's my best ever Xmas present 😀. I spend hours in the bath either on the internet or reading my kindle. Nothing nicer than a bowl of snacks and a nice cold drink to accompany me.
Beans on toast in the bath is epic

RedLife · 06/11/2018 20:13

Yes have done for years.

Ice pops
Apples
Satsumas
Cheese and crackers
Grapes
Chocolate
And booze!

It's my favourite time of day Grin

hiyahen · 06/11/2018 20:21

I don't usually eat in the bath. Wouldn't rule it out though! I have however taken a glass of wine in with me.

This thread reminds me of the time about 10 years ago when my Dad walked into the living room and to me 'Well I've just had an experience... I've eaten a Solero in the shower!!' He was really excited about it too Still makes me smile!

Fuzzyend · 06/11/2018 20:27

No, no, no, NO. SO WRONG! Obscene!

Crappy food? Fabulous.
Bath? One of the best bits of the day.

Together? What the hell is the matter with you.

Never felt so strongly about something on mn.

seven201 · 06/11/2018 21:11

I do it as a very rare treat. I've had ice cream or chocolate in the bath before, and wine of course! It's so decadent. I feel like the lady off the flake advert.

Worriedmummybekind · 06/11/2018 23:18

Hell to the yes. You naysayers don’t know what you’re missing frankly.

AllTakenSoRubbishUsername · 07/11/2018 00:14

Nice cold glass of something, yes, but a custard slice? Nooo…..

brizzledrizzle · 07/11/2018 04:59

No, it seems kind of gross to be honest. I suppose we could because there is no toilet in our bathroom but even so...it's not for me.

NOTthepinkranger · 07/11/2018 05:03

Reminds me of this, someone on twitter notes takeaway containers float in the bath!

Nope, I couldn’t do it though. Wet hands + food makes me shiver

OneStepMoreFun · 07/11/2018 08:13

No! Weird and revolting. And I eat anything anywhere. Tea, coffee, wine all fine. But solid food absolutely not.

DistanceCall · 07/11/2018 08:43

It IS weird (and soggy, I imagine).

But hey, to each their own Grin

LostInTheColonies · 07/11/2018 08:50

As a very special treat, I occasionally feed DD and friends in the bath - specifically, macaroni cheese served in ugly 2l ice cream containers. If they are extra-lucky, they might get jelly as well. They love it. Grin

RedLife · 07/11/2018 09:26

You keep the eating hand dry. No sogginess.
