Should I been calling 111 to get him in to OOH? It's DH, doesn't do doctors etc just wants to rest and sleep it off, he's been vomiting this evening, had medication. When do I intervene? It's the highness of the temperature that's worrying me the most, he's boiling to touch.

Not great temp hasn't come down at all, they rang back asked to speak to him, he made out he was alright played down his symptoms
They're going to ring back with an appointment for OOH which is good

When he's asleep I can see his pulse, pulsating in his neck, is that normal?
Just rather him be seen by a doctor now and if it's a normal bug then fantastic else I'll be up all night worrying

Hope you get call back soon. Keep an eye out for any red 'tide' or 'track' marks on arms and legs or heat and swelling in the limbs. Any sign of this and no messing get him to hospital fast. Hubby was in for 4 days and on anti biotics for weeks but came through good in the end. Was told that he was lucky though to get to hospital when he did with similar symptoms to this.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 04/11/2018 23:59

No, that is not normal

Please get him seen tonight

Take the bed clothes off him - you need to get his temperature down.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 05/11/2018 00:43

I’m currently in hospital and they’re trying to get mine down with IV antibiotics and are stressing enough about me but mine is only between 37.6 and 38.5 so a temperature as high as his he needs to keep as cool as possible not wrapped up in bed

bumblingbovine49 · 05/11/2018 00:46

A temperature that high in an adult is really high. It is very hiigh fever for a child and they tend to get higher temps genrally than adults. Definitely good that you have got medical advice. I hope your DH feels.better soon

candlehigh · 05/11/2018 00:47

Still waiting for OOH to call and it's been over an hour now Sad DH's hands and feet are cold but his body is boiling still
I have work at 9 in morning so have to be up and at breakfast club with Ds for 7:30
If we get an appointment I'll drive, hopefully Ds will stay asleep for transfer to car and I'll wait in car with him, while DH goes in

LondonLassInTheCountry · 05/11/2018 00:58

Is he peeing?

What colour is his skin?

Is he talking / reacting ok?

Worsening as the hours go on?

LondonLassInTheCountry · 05/11/2018 01:02

I dont trust 111.

I was ill.

My partner rang them, spoke to a nurse and a doctor was waiting on another doctor to ring back and give us an appointment

In the mean time, i just wanted to sleep but said to my partner that i felt like i was dying, it was such a weird feeling.
He literally put me in the car.
At the hospital my kidneys were failing and drs said if i had fallen asleep i wouldn't of woken up

111 took 10 hours to call back

I dont want to scare you. But if you are worried, DO NOT wait for 111 to call back

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 05/11/2018 01:04

My DH had a similar temperature when he had sepsis, and also each time he's had pneumonia. He was admitted to hospital on every occasion. I would be urging your DH to go to get checked out now, regardless of work in the morning, because if it is sepsis it can be very dangerous.

candlehigh · 05/11/2018 01:07

He's had some more paracetamol I'm giving his temp 10 minutes to come
Down, or 111 to ring back,
It's hard because DH is adamant he's fine, feels fine and just wants to sleep
I disagree and believe he needs seeing asap

I think you're doing the right thing. Sometimes you have to take charge no matter what he's saying and that's what you're doing.

Hope he's ok

frankie001 · 05/11/2018 02:04

This really could be sepsis. I would get him seen, lots of red flags.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 05/11/2018 02:07

Hope the OP is actually getting help

These kind of threads annoy me..

OP posts then doesnt answer the questions or follows the advice given by nearly every poster.

SleepWarrior · 05/11/2018 02:32

How is he getting on? Hopefully you are all safely tucked up asleep now!

Toddlerteaplease · 05/11/2018 02:39

Ibuprofen might be more effective at bringing his temperature down.

Butterflycookie · 05/11/2018 02:48

If you’re that worried then please drive him to hospital!...don’t wait for a callback. I work for 111. Indicators of sepsis would be if he couldn’t look at lights, if he can’t put his chin to his chest or if he’s got any new marks such as bruises or blood blisters. Does he have any of those symptoms?.

AmazingGrace16 · 05/11/2018 03:08

Hope he's ok and you got your Call back!

madeyemoodysmum · 05/11/2018 07:16

Please let us know how he is today op. I hope he is ok

ThanksItHasPockets · 05/11/2018 07:18

I really hope that you and DH are OK, OP, and that he is getting medical attention. Fever with cold hands and feet can be a sign of meningitis.

madeyemoodysmum · 05/11/2018 07:18

Butterfly. Those indicators are very late ones arnt they ? It concerns me that 111 are giving those out as sepsis signs as by the time it's got to that stage your in a very serious condition.

TheFuckfaceWhisperer · 05/11/2018 09:35

How is he doing OP?

KipperTheFrog · 05/11/2018 09:37

I read the last night and thought I'd commented with early signs of sepsis. Obviously I didn't hit post Blush
Hope you managed to get your DH seen and he's recovering.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 05/11/2018 09:41
