PinkHeart

There are at least two Pound Bakeries, plus about 20 others Grin including the market.

Tea from McDonald’s for 99p and some nice biscuits. You should be able to get a small pack of shortbread for £1.37!

hoistmeupjudy · 31/10/2018 12:04

A small bottle of Prosecco from Aldi £2.25....cheers!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 31/10/2018 12:08

Romany in Yorkshire there’s Couplands, who do four sausage rolls for £1. The children love them, but it makes me somewhat queasy to think about the contents of the pastry, let alone the sausage meat!

Flaskfan · 31/10/2018 12:13

Bottle of cherry beer.

Talk about stealth boasting.

EdisonLightBulb · 31/10/2018 12:26

Save it, look after the pennies..... you never know when you may need it.

toherdoor · 31/10/2018 12:29

This thread has made me crave chocolate and sweets like you would've believe. And I'm doing 5:2 and on an 800 calorie day bloody hell I want a cream egg and a bag of sweets

IdahoCrow · 31/10/2018 12:30

I've never met an apocalypse stockpiler IRL, but I always assumed they hoarded huge piles of necessary but dull food

@Fink, I realised early on into my Stockpiling Journey© that in order to keep my long suffering family onside I'd have to store (a) things that people actually wanted to eat, and (b) have things that I can give away to other people / food bank, when the apocalypse doesn't materialise, without them pulling catsbum faces at my 'generosity'. Mmmm, tinned carrots. And tinned burgers you say? You really shouldn't have.

DS, who is a 2nd year student, favours vodka and spaghetti hoops Grin

GreenDinosaur · 31/10/2018 12:34

@IncyWincyGrownUp, you can get a bus ticket for that much?! I want to live where you do, that's amazing!

GhouldaLovesLillies · 31/10/2018 12:35

Go to Ikea, if you have a family card you can get a bacon roll and a cup of coffee for a pound and still have £1.36 over.

If you don't have a family card you'll have to pay another pound for your coffee. Still 36p change though.

Enough for a bar of their dark chocolate that they're currently selling for 20p a bar. Result! Coffee, bacon roll, bar of chocolate and still 16p change!

Penguinsetpandas · 31/10/2018 12:35

I'ld buy 2 big bag of Swizzels sweets which are on offer for £1 at our local shop. Think they are meant for trick or treaters but I know a better cause.

QuestionableMouse · 31/10/2018 12:38

Asda do five bags of sweets for a quid.

Get those and a bottle of pop.

Zoflorabore · 31/10/2018 12:40

The pound bakery is nasty... they found rats in one in our city Grin

And no, they were not customers....

Justanotheruser01 · 31/10/2018 13:05

Coffee and a bun from greggs £2.25 deal.

LEMtheoriginal · 31/10/2018 13:30

I'd have to get a bus into the next town for greggs and the bus fare would be £7!! Also their steak bakes are far superior.

Haven't RTFT but where are you if you're paying for adults to get into soft play???

I've never heard of that & I've got 3 kids & a variety of nieces & nephews so have been to a fair few in my time!

IncyWincyGrownUp · 31/10/2018 17:55

GreenDinosaur it’s £2.30 for a day ticket for a child up to 18, and a whole £3.50 for an adult. It’s a cruddy city at times, but the transport costs reflect that! :o
